These people are insane. Very scary to think there are folks that have brains work that this way.
Insanity is the only way to describe it. I find it hard to believe the law will pass, but it shouldn't have been written into a bill to begin with. Every hunter in Connecticut needs to fight that bill.

The reality is that these opponents of hunting, specifically African game see it only as killing or “Trophy hunting” as they call it.
The reality is that the money paid to hunt is now not available or drying up and causing a ripple affect where conservation of the animals is impacted.
To these anti’s, hunting isn’t seen as regulated. To these anti’s, they cannot understand hunting at all. To the antis, they don’t see poaching and how not only poaching, but culling is now taking the place of hunting however, there is no money taken in to help offset conservation of the species.
These people who introduce legislation that has ZERO to do with governance if the USA need to be educated. Very difficult to reason with people who have their mind made up, even before understanding their actions!
Glad I'm old and don't have kids. I feel for the rest of you though. The trend does not look good. Pray that truth prevails, and stupidity goes extinct. I feel it will, but nonetheless, we need to fight, and I mean HARD!!!. Or it will all be lost.

I think the next Civil war will be an unavoidable necessity in less than a decade, and the 'coasts' will be 'one country' - the 'New LSA' - Liberal States of America', and the 'USA' will be the rest of what did not split off or get run off. Jdee, to me it is more about calling out the hypocrisy of them. Most PETA type people I know "own" many animals. To me, what is good for the goose is good for the gander. They say animals have rights, ok then, give up all your animals slave owners. How can they justify keeping them?

A guy stabbed one 10 times, blood everywhere. This stuff should never been aired IMO. Even kill shots = damaging info/evidence for the hunter. Yea, say what you want,"that its our right". Why the Big 6? I'm completely lost on African hunts and have no clue the laws. Are they illegal to hunt, is there a reason someone shouldn't have a mount of one? Or is just because cartoons made them lovable and therefor more valuable than say a deer or a rat.

FYI Everyone. This bill PASSED the Judiciary Committee yesterday by a vote of 31-5. It can now be called for a vote before both houses. Pretty sure our new Gov will sign it if it passes the House and Senate.

Crazy, here is Duff's testimony if anyone wants to feel sicker than they already are about this. I wish these politicians would concentrate on running the state the way it should be rather than issues that they have no clue about. A bit of education on conservation wouldn't hurt.

My State Rep was one of the 5 NO votes. He gets that Hunting in rural African areas brings more than a half-billion dollars that would not be there otherwise. His bill will help increase poaching and make it more likely that animals will become extint.
Bob Duff is not known to be a friend to CT gun owners or to CT Sportsmen. By sponsoring this bill, and by that testimony, he has shown that he's not very bright.
It is difficult for the politicians to comprehend that their legislation will do nothing to preserve a species. It is not legal hunting, which is managed, that depleted a species...quite the opposite. Without the monies from legal hunting,, things will change for specie preservation. Too bad the precedent being set.
