This past season I was blessed to shoot my biggest buck ever in Missouri. I have used the same taxidermist (Donnie Kalwei in KC) for many years and I think he does a superb job. He's a humbled dude- doesn't have a website- but man does he do good work. This is my sixth mount from him. He always seems to have enough business, but I wanted to give him a shout out anyways.
I had him do a pedestal mount so I could turn it in to a pedestal display in the future. For now, I love him on the wall! He unofficially scored just over 214 gross.

Yessir...I was still posting them in. It was an early season hunt over a bean field, in the snow. I had never seen the deer before. The neighbor was gracious to share trail cam pics with me after.

Wow! Great buck, was he pretty run down when you got him, looks like he was a little thin? Did you get him aged? Nice mount too!

He aged at 6.5. Super rut worn is all I could tell. I hunted in the same spot before the Missouri rifle season and never saw anything like him, but lots of does and 2/3 year old bucks. I'm guessing he was kept very busy by the ladies during November. He was unusually unaware, for a buck of his maturity, on the standing beans I shot him over. He was devouring the beans mid morning, along with lots of deer. The snow in the last week of November in to December worked big time in my lucky favor.

They don't get much nicer than that. I wonder what he looked like, body-wise, pre-rut! Probably a hoss... At least he died happy!

Thanks guys. It was a blessing from God. I haven't aspired to shoot any particular size buck. I have been bow hunting 20 years, pretty hard, but have only seen a few bucks over Boone/Crockett, maybe one that was over 200, in Kansas, where I do most of my hunting- 15 years ago. So this is just stunning and lottery ticket-esque.
