Good luck Big Dan. Hope you heal well. If it slows you down it just makes you a better hunter!
Here is what I'm dealing with
Is that from a poor circulation condition?
Hopefully you can keep your toes and they can correct the cause.
Good luck and hang in there, buddy. There's lots worse things than losing a couple toes. Main thing is to get the cause identified and fixed. Best wishes!
Sorry to hear this, prayers your way! follow the docs orders, and hopefully you will be back out in the woods in short order! God Bless!!
Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Good luck man! Hoping you have a speedy recovery!
you have my prayers but I'm curios what caused this ? are you type 1 diabetic or perhaps frostbite that didn't heal. blood clots ?
GL Dan. Did you step on a hoochy moma? Not trying to be a smart azz - sometimes a little smile helps. God's speed to you!
Poor circulation diabetic related? Or misssora brakes mud infection ‘
Prayers for a great outcome Dan!
Praying for you, Dan...it's going to take more than a couple toes to slow you down!
Yes Its diabetic related I have several vans in my left leg t and foot that are blocked There going to try and open some tomorrow Morning
I know what you’re going thru Dan! It really sucks when you are an active “outdoor guy” and get stuck inside in a hospital bed! : (
Trust me- listen to the Docs and do what they say! Will make recovery much faster and hopefully a better outcome long term!
Hang in there! Prayers coming from PA!
I have a breaks elk tag so I will do as told still waiting to find out about Utah and Nevada
Hang TOUGH Dan ! Take care of your health first, the hunts can wait till you get your mojo back.
Jeesh Dan... that looks tough. I googled prosthetic toes... just in case. Sure enough they have em’. Would help with keeping your other toes aligned and help with your balance. But, praying you get to keep the ones you got free!
Diabetes ?? ... my dad ended up club footed because of it... my Uncle had vein graphs .....
BTW, you can get by without a few toes, dont try trimming toe nails with a push mower.. ... I still run 3-10 miles and walk fine, as long as there is a Big toe left ... I really dont miss 'em ..... push mower accident about 10 years back while mowing a trail to a food plot, was pullin' the mower backwards, tripped on an unseen log in tall grass, it came down on the left foot.... you'll do just fine .... good luck
Wishing the best for you Dan!
Good luck, Dan! Prayers sent from PA!
Good luck Dan. You’ll be chasin elk before you know it...
Hoping for the best Bigdan!
You got this Dan... good luck. Ed F
My Dad had the same issue. Hope yours goes better than his. He lost toes, then a leg, but he had Type I diabetes from the age of 14 and we have come a long way since then treating diabetes and the circulation problems that are secondary to the disease
Maybe I am saying this to worry a bit more than you already are. I know you are already worried, but just always remember what can happen if you don't take care of your feet. If you are like me, you are stubborn and want to be able to do all the things you have been doing. But possibly times are achanging, and though you can't give up hunting, you need to take more care in the future. Most of the changes are beyond your control, but there are some things you can do. I pray and hope you do great and can still count to 10 on your fingers AND toes! Prayers sent
Doctors will do right thing.
Best of luck Dan. Keep us updated.
Good luck with that Dan, I hope that's as far as it goes. My son in law has had that done a couple times, but his is from a spinal injury. I worry about that some myself, although my circulation seems to be better since I've been on coumadin. Ain't much fun getting old ! Hang in !
Whack them little suckers off rub some dirt on it and put your boot back on you got elk to kill!!!
Hope it goes well Dan. You'll be back at it in no time.
Best wishes BD! Hoping for the best!
Hopefully this is just a bump in the road Dan! Good luck!
Are you a controlled diabetic or have you struggled with your A1c levels? I am a diabetic and trying hard to keep the numbers down.....
Doesn't look too good Dan, especially if the lines in are clogged. But you won't miss those two toes after everything heals.
Dan, that looks worse than the last picture you sent. Good luck, hope they can turn it around.
Dang sorry to hear, good luck & speedy recovery!

If worse comes to worse... Isn’t there some bar in Alaska where they offer shots with a pickled toe in it?
That could be quite the fundraising “dare” shot at future P&Y Bowsite meet and greets.
Asking for a friend.
Well spent two hours working on me had to open two vains around my knee one was blocked off 100% the rest was around my ankles I have blood going to all my toes now and they can get a pulce in my feet now we will have to wait a few days and find out how much of my toes can be saved Dr said it looked good. thanks guys for all the support .
Dang Dan, I sure hope they can save those toes! I had my two bottom incisors pulled so I could bugle just like you. But getting a couple toes yanked might be more than I'm willing to sacrifice...
That’s some good news Dan.
Stay the course!
Excellent, hoping for the best!
Good news Dan! Keep the faith Brother!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
That is amazing technology. Good luck
Perhaps you could share some pics of "items" you've removed from some of your patients? You shared some horrifying stories over a couple bottles of Makers at PY. Might make Dan gladly sacrifice toes....and feel good about it : ^ \
That's really good news, Dan! Good luck moving forward with this. Take care of yourself and follow doctor's orders!
Good news Dan!
The elk are damn nervous now!!!
Grit, modern medicine, and prayers. All three with get you through this. You have all three working for you. Good Luck
Great news Dan! We'll still be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. I think the elk had also better be considering prayer with a healthy Dan on their trail! Best of luck on your recovery!
Glad to hear, Dan. Lotsa folks care.
They let me come home toes are still not a 100% thing thank you guys for all the support Bigdan
Good deal, hopefully home for a speedy recovery.
Glad to hear it Dan! Going HOME is good medicine! ;-)
Sounds like a good prognosis so far! Follow that doc’s advice and get well soon!
That's great news --- wouldn't want to you have to change your handle to "stumpy 2" :)
Well, Dan, you could always find a "wench" to pull you through.
Ok, not sure of the spelling. Dan ask about the HYPERBARIC chamber. It is used with high oxygen to help in the healing.
Praying for those two little piggies Dan!
Stay on your toes, so your toes can stay on!
Awesome news Danny! Hang in there I'll see you on the mountain!
Good news Dan - hope that blood keeps flowing!
