Helluva way to go
I found this poor fella. Awful way to go.
That's crazy! Is that a cave or just a crevice between rocks?
Its a verticle cave on the backside of my farm. Goes down about 25 feet into a reservior
Hopefully it broke his neck if not I wonder how long it took. Real bad deal.
Should have been a democrat (kidding) well maybe not.
If only he had turned his head.
Man.... now that would really suck!
that should be covered or fenced so no individual finds the same fait.
maybe already is but can't see in the photo.
If you fenced in all those kind of places in WV, you'd increase steel prices three fold
I’m surprised looking at what happened to him you went down for the head! Lol
Slipped off the edge, hooked the back end of his antler on a tree, broke his neck and died hanging there.
We did have it fenced off but it didnt help him :-/
found one alive like that years ago, had fallen in an old test mine that had collapsed. He was dehydrated and weak, we roped his antlers and pulled him up. he bedded down within reach. The next morning he was gone.
I hope these types of photos do not make it to animal rights group. Who knows what measures they would want to take against the earth and landowners for not protecting the lives of these innocent animals !
Nature is cruel sometimes. Imagine the stuff that happens daily that is never revealed to us.
Cheesehead Mike, do you know the origin of that photo? I see the blood on the rocks and it makes me wonder.
I think it was a Bowsite story from years ago or a story online that I copied the photos from. I believe a hunter shot it and it fell off a cliff and down into the hole.
In 2003 I was guiding on a ranch in WY unit 7 and we found a dead buck in a similar position but the entire skeleton was there. Wish I had taken a picture. Hard life in the canyons.
This was actually the brother of a guy I went to college with at Wyoming. Remember the story. Link included
