Ok, looks like a good window of weather Friday - Sunday so I will head out tomorrow to seek revenge on the "almost" tom. Should arrive around 5 pm and that will allow me to scope the far a way pasture to detect birds and travel routes. If they are still around they should be in the same areas. I will sleep over and then up at 4 am, for the mile hike in.
This time I will take in my T-2 blind instead of relying on natural cover as in the past, and one hen decoy that I have rigged with a motion draw string. Time will tell.

I dropped one on public land this evening while two other hunters watched from the end of the field. Not sure if my Tom was spooked by these guys as he did not run. But he did exit the field, just not quite fast enough. Either way I was a second or two away from a blown hunt. That's Public.

Good luck I tried to get one this am . Came out into the field strutting for two hens got one of the hens to come into camp with the decoys but the tom stayed out of bow range guess he was a chicken and not a turkey lol Then the wind wipped up and got stuck in a deluged of water lightning and thunder and well that was it ! Hope pours goes better .
