Folks, I decided to get an Inreach mini for my hunting trips. I have a spot messenger that was given to me, so I'm doing the same. Somebody's wife or S.O. will be happy that you can text her to tell her you're okay. Here's how I'll handle it.
Put your name in the thread with a number next to it, in sequential order: First poster is 1, second 2, etc. Next Friday at noon, I'll close the list. If there are 56 people wanting it, for example, I'll use a random number generator to pick a number between one and fifty six. Totally random.
Or, before we start, if anyone has a better idea as how to run it, I'm okay with changing the rules, just not after the contest starts. Contest starts 8 am MDT. Names prior to that time will not be entered into the contest.
I'll pay shipping. Your only cost is a free archery lesson to a deserving beginning archer. Honor system.....I trust you.

I'm doing a random number generator to pick the winners. I just don't want to have to count all the entries. I have a very annoying cold today, and even adding is hard.

Counting off is what I wanted since that maximizes the odds of selection. IF they just pick a number, there would be several blanks in the middle. This is easier.

I'm using a random number generator from Random.org. which, according to their website, is somehow generated from atmospheric noise (In the 1980's, I learned of a communications system that generated random transmissions by bouncing them off a completely random event, meteor showers, for military use.)
There are 53 bowhunters trying their luck. I wish I had 53 to give away.
