Not much there. You can see how demand has risen when even the doe/fawn antelope has few tags available.

Who on earth would want a doe/fawn antelope tag? I assume you can just shoot from your window with a tag like that? ;)

They need to jack the price to $100 each.

elkocd, I would. One of my favorite meats and if you're there hunting elk, why not. Also, they often need their numbers reduced and PETA isn't going to do it.

Best meat going for my taste buds..Also may lead to a buck hunt on private.

I've got 2 doe fawn tags and a doe deer tag this year no buck tags and I'll have a great time. Meat is the true trophy in hunting.

Heck, I’d try for one if I didn’t already have a elk and bear tags to fill.

What happens if there are tags that are not drawn after the leftover draw ? Are they first come first serve or do they not sell them ?

Another good reason to hunt RP doe antelope or doe deer or even cow elk is to get to know the unit Trophy Quality for the males if a guy/gal wants to apply for any Overlap/species units.
Bruce, yes--------> First Come

Somehow didn't draw my doe tag, yet the unit has several in leftover list....how does that work?

Hooch, the leftovers are from the resident pool of licenses. When you applied you only had access to the NR pool of available tags. After the resident draw is run and leftovers are available from within that pool they fall to the leftover list which is available equally to residents and NR. Hopefully that makes sense.

Residents draw first, their leftovers are added to the nr quota. NR Lo's draw first, then the NR special then the NR regular. They then conduct a 2nd pass for residents and non residents, remainder goes to leftover sale.

WapitiBob: so the resident elk draw was back in January/Feb but their results are not available until June 20?

The sequence is different for Elk and Pronghorn. I was talking Pronghorn/Deer above and should have noted it.

When it comes out of this draw to leftover going OTC, does teh price change or is the price fixed?
Going in for cow elk

I'm pretty sure the leftover tags that eventually become first come, first serve stay at their original price.

There is no application fee on the first come first served so they are a little cheaper that way but the tag price is the same.
