As many as it takes to draw a tag? A general tag is about 50/50 with 2 points in the regular draw and is a great tag to have!

1.1 for a general license in the special draw. As soon as I have enough points to draw a tag I burn them faster than beetle killed lodgepole pines!
No matter where you hunt it takes hard work, patience, and a little luck to kill bulls over 320. But you can certainly do that in general license units too. I’d rather hunt 7 seasons, and kill 7 bulls 280-320 than sit around waiting to draw a “better” unit where elk hunting is still elk hunting.

Also, be careful, some tags are private/public land only, some are not in wilderness or national forest etc.
Just stumbled on that bit.
