I am heading to Maine in about a month to hunt black bear. Three of us went last year and are heading that way again. Anyone else hunting fall bear in Maine? Anyone hear how the berry crop is this year up there?

Havent really looked at it but we had so much rain and warm temps this spring/summer that I would guess it is excellent. My backyard berries were very good.

I'm heading up to my friend's property in the Fort Kent area with a few buddies the second week of September for a DIY hunt. More of a social event than a serious hunt but we hope to get some action to add to the fun.

Stekewood watch out for the moose sure you already know that! Lol saw a huge bull on the road leading into Fort Kent last year.

Who are you hunting with? I’ve been to a couple camps in Maine and enjoyed them both.

Odd year in Maine usually means a heavy berry crop. That is what my guide always said. We will be near Ashland for moose last week of sept.

In southern Maine, good berry crop. Could be different up north.

I am going to PB outfitters. They are pretty far north. Hopefully the bait will be a nice change of pace if the berries are plentiful.
