Do both year round!
I shot Broadheads last night for the first time this year. Only shot 3, but they were hitting about 1” low at 40 yards. I might need to move my rest up a tiny bit but I need to back up to 60-80 to make sure they’re shooting low. Sure feels good to have them grouping at 40 though!
Getting used to waking up before 7 am.
Hell Lou, I wish I could sleep in that late!
shoot broadheads and more hill hikes with 25#sack of rice in the pack.
Post on Bowsite telling people I’m not looking for their honey holes while asking for their honey holes?
will not be long----- I will be calling this home
will not be long----- I will be calling this home
Hiked into the Flat Top Wilderness the other day to my spike camp area. Gained 1500 ft in the climb over 2 miles to 10,460 ft. Chase the wonder dog, traveled 5 x that but he was a good trooper.
Will be shooting BHs tomorrow at the FC range to make sure all is ok. I have been shooting in the yard every other day or so. Also, riding the mt bike and hiking locally with a 20# pack. Lots of moisture in the mts this year but also lots of mosquitoes. Made up 10 # of goose jerky last night and a week ago, apple chips . The last day in August is coming up fast.
NO, I am not excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice work, Paul...camp looks great !
I miss the Flattops!
Getting serious!
ElkNut/Paul
Deciding which bull I want to target.... The decision is hard as I have several exceptional bulls...
Getting the truck tuned up. Dialing in broadheads (almost there) and getting meals prepared.
Hunting blacktails and caribou to get in shape.
Marathon training will peak in two weeks before tapering for the race on 8/31. Trail half marathon in a week. Need to start my pack training to get my hips in shape. Been shooting most every day. Need to service my trailer and quad and get air bags installed on the truck. August is going to fly by!
Hell! It’s time to stop! Gawd what an awesome fishing season this has been!
Time to get this damn splint off and start rehab ASAP. Weighted pack hikes will do for now. Thumbs up...because it won’t move until Monday.
:( Time to find the 2019 elk meatpole thread so I can live vicariously through everyone that gets to go this year.
Yesterday- Early AM-6 mile run. After work- 275 floors Stairmaster w/weighted vest in 40 min. After supper-Mowed lawn with my backpack (65+ lbs)
But I do enjoy the ride! (This pic is from last Saturday, fishing from my kayak)
Love me some smallies, Z!
Eating turkey jerky ought to make you hunt elk harder for sure, as elk jerky is alot tastier
I think I’ll catch some more walleyes, drink some more beer, and then feel guilty and climb hills every night during the week like have the last 3-4 weeks! Ha!
Practicing my afternoon naps so I can be efficient at my mid day napping. Oh look it's afternoon....
Those are some damn nice 'eyes, Justin!
Thanks Nick....and I hope we're still talking about the fish?!?
You have beautiful eyes as well. ;-)
Also getting close to....Manscape time baby!
Put water in that jug, Brad, and it'll be an even better workout.
Time to start taking care of any projects around the house that absolutely need to be done this year, because pretty soon they are not going to be getting done - HA!
Getting my calls out for some tune ups.
Getting everything setup for hurricane season. Last year I left for MT without a care in the world. Five days later I get a text from my wife that a Cat. 4 hurricane is going to hit us right in the mouth. A very helpless feeling being 2000 miles away with a very scared wife trying to batten down the hatches.
