I think a lot animals go up high to escape the bugs. Good God! the skeeters are bad at lower elevations

Hell, the skeeters were horrible all the way up to 11K! Hopefully get some early frosts to knock them back.
Poudre, we caught a pile of nice cutts on dries - hellacious stonefly and grey drake hatches going off! Every place that should have a fish... did!
Only saw one set of people tracks on one stream out of the five or six we fished!

Sounds like I'm not the only one getting harassed by tons of mosquitos and biting flies this year. Add central Utah to the list of bug-infested destinations this year. Makes sitting outside almost unbearable.

Wow!, beautiful pics. Headed to NM in Sept after missing two seasons in a row for first time in 30 years ( got old, surgeries, bitching a lot , etc etc ). About to jump out of my skin to get back. If you love to hunt the mountains these pics will set u free. Thank all of you for sharing!!

Funny, at my place at 8500' feet there are virtually no skeeters, even with beaver ponds all around. But up the valley at 9500 there are clouds of the little bastards.
