Was very pysched to start next week, but will now wait for a bit cooler weather! Something about running into a rattlesnake has me rethinking my plan.
I will say for a NH to WY transplant, your first rattlesnake rattle is a bit un-nerving

Sent the wife to RMSGear to pick up some VPA 2-blades before my Iron Will's come in on Friday. A quick tune tonight and I'll be out the door at 4am to chase these goats

Would you shoot this one opening morning or wait to see if a bigger one gives you a chance?
Have a great Bowhunt, BB

I’d shoot him opening day and surprise the hell out of my bowhunting partner with a phone call that lights up his blind!!

I still get it from time to time but they tell me that you can’t win if you don’t enter, so I guess I’ll just look around my living room and be satisfied with the ones I had mounted. Sure do miss that delicious meat though !

I was passing on antelope this year, however, now I'm thinking an over the counter Nebraska tag. Always thought that this guy was cool. Still haven't shot a "heart shaped" antelope.

I’d probably shoot any one of those bucks, butcherboy. Those all NM bucks?

Yep t-roy, all NM bucks. I’ve seen a lot of high 70” to low possibly mid 80” bucks. Maybe one 90”. Bad thing is, it’s a fairly small area with a decent amount of good bucks and the stupid G&F decided to increase the tags this year. The Antelope are going to take a long time to recover now.

I was never one to Bowhunt for head gear in my now 63 years bowhunting (I started in 1956). I have put a size on my next Whitetail & no longer shoot Does ONLY because I have been blessed with over 100. Like BB, I enjoy shooting various critters with a camera too. I'm more excited for my son being his 1st trip for Goats. HE HAS the fever.

I'm ready but still some time to wait. Want to spot & stalk with a decoy and will be heading to Montana mid September to give that plan a go.
