Broadhead hitting low @ 40

So my Broadhead is hitting perfect with field tips out to 30 but at 40 about 3 inches low. I’m shooting a limb driver pro rest. With a Bowtech Realm. Should I move knock point down a tad?
Most fixed blades start to drop at or around 40-50 yards . Vented or solid blades?
Vented. Slick trick viper trick.
So basically I just need to turn it into Broadhead mode and adjust my sight to compensate. I’m perfect left and right and feel like the bow is tuned just starting to drop a tad.
You could also move the rest up a little to see if it improves. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Realm liked to be set high in the Berger hole nock level.
I would not adjust your sight. Viper tricks fly awesome, you should be able to get them to hit right with your FP’s at any range. I shot them for years and they always impacted with FP’s, never a variation in POI.
Do you have a draw board? I’d check to make sure your cams are hitting at the same time as well. If one is a little ahead of the other you’ll have this condition as well.
My bet is you’re dropping your bow arm to look at arrow
3” at 40 isn’t wind drag.
How many yards off is that? Are you On at 35? 37? I mean... does 3” even matter when you’re almost never going to be shooting from an exact 40 yards anyway?
I only messed with a sighted Compound for a couple of years, but personally, I would move that 40-yard sight pin before I would move anything that might affect my tune or my POI for everything else. NO WONDER you guys always seem to have tuning issues!!! (LOL, but you see my point).
Sure Brad! Blame it on the shooter! Ha.
^^ that’s been my personal experience! :)
Normally broadheads will not drop off from FPs until around 60 yards or so. I'd say bump your rest up a tad.
The balance point of your broadhead is probably a shade forward of the b/p of your field tip. Check the foc of your arrow with field point and broadhead, bet there's a tiny difference. Somewhere out yonder it's gonna start showing.
Check rest height and timing. My Vipertricks hit right with my FP’s until about 80 and are just a touch low at 100.
Thanks for all the replies guys. I was able to rule out shooter error (dropping bow arm). I did take that into consideration. Thanks Brad. I moved my rest slightly up and lowered my knock point just a hare. Shooting pretty consistent out to 60 now. Started to get dam windy so hung it up for the day but will be back at it tomorrow. Cam timing seems dam near perfect so think I’m good there.
It’s pretty much physically impossible for it to only drop 40 and on, the thing is you’re probably not noticing the variance at 20,30. I think you did the right thing moving rest etc. I have always found my fixed heads to fly right with field points regardless of distance. 20,40,80 and beyond. Have had viper tricks fly very very well.
Tune them together at the furthest distance you feel comfortable at and then shoot them together at the shorter distances after and my bet is they’ll be bang on.
I’d move your rest up a touch
If you are not shooting blazer vanes, I'd bet it was wind drag doing it.
However, whatever it is, I would set the bow down for a day or so before I moved anything to assure it wasn't you.
If it was me I’d be thrilled with three inches at 40. You are trying to hit a basketball sized vital zone not an Olympic bullseye. Your a hunter. Kill something. Your good.
No disrespect intended Bou, but if it's consistently the same at 40 (3 low) and the rest of the pins are good --- that would be unacceptable.
I would move the pin, not the rest. Moving the rest changes all your other pins, which you said are already dialed in to perfection.
Shoot through paper, your probably getting a high tear, like others have said move your rest up a tad, 3 inches low at 40 for me would be unacceptable and easily fixed
This is a mixed group of bh's and FP'S at 80... The variation you see is me... When I'm really on my game it's tighter but this is average for me most days..

I bet a bare shaft will show you similar results... I shoot vipers as well for years... Field point vs bh at 80....
Move rest up just a hair... Assuming good form you'll be in business..
That'll work Jim.....great shooting
You aren't spending enough money. If you buy a more expensive rest, broadheads or more gadgets for your bow, you should be able to fix this! LOL!
Svrelk -- that is pretty decent shooting right there. Sheesh.
Thanks Chasewild, I have bad days like everyone does.. I just put the bow away when I ain't feeling it...
But shooting long makes 40 close.... And when I bowhunt, I like close...
