I finished the pedestal last night for my son Austin’s full strut Nebraska Merriam gobbler mount that Fortner Taxidermy is working on. The stump is from a dead cedar tree at my hunting club. The rest is from a pallet I tore apart. I’ve always felt that little touches make for great memories so I incorporated Austin’s shotgun shell, an in the field picture as well as the shed antler he found moments before he killed the bird. #makinmemories #godsgreatoutdoors #blessed

Looks good! Update with a picture when you add the bird!
Blue Ribbon for sure!
Man that’s fantastic. I really like the state plaque and photo. How many hours you got in it?
What JohnMC said !
Thanks guys! It’s a labor of love for sure. KS, man I’m not sure as I’ve worked on it here and there so many times. I’ve probably got 20 to 30 hours in it
Looks great! Great memories and keepsake.

Good on you Dad!
Very cool! Nice work. You'll have to post a photo once the cherry gets put on top! Thanks for sharing!
