Arizona Coues Early Season

Just got back from a Coues deer hunt in Southern AZ. This was a 2 on 1 guided hunted advertised by Wards Outfitters in April on bowsite. Hunt dates were August 23-27. I was very impressed with Steven who is a hands on take charge guy who wants his guides and hunters to have a good time but also be successful. The weather was crazy hot and even crazier hot in a blind sitting water. Steven gave us coolers loaded with water ice and food which made it liveable. Fortunately for me I took this nice buck on the first day just after lunch. My first Coues deer and they are strikingly petite and beautiful. Short shot short bloodtrail. Our guide Justin did a great job was upbeat, sociable and could find deer. Thanks to Steven and his crew I’m sure I will be back chasing big mule deer in the future.

That's a good buck... congratulations. Steve is definitely one of the best. I'm on day 9 of sitting in a super hot blind. I had to take one day off because I was on the verge of heat stroke. A tough way to hunt. Congratulations. Ed F
