For the guys that have been to Africa and have shipped something back.
The shipping guy in Africa has me hooked up with Trophy Shippers out of Illinois. They are asking for copies of my drivers license and a copy of my social security card. Is that common? I get a little nervous when they want my social security card.

If Trophy Shippers is an import agent for your crate, it is not uncommon.

I don't recall ever being asked for a social security card. I would absolutely NOT do that.

We are using D&L in Chicago for our africa shipment. They required either passport, 1040 tax return or social security card.

I have used Coppersmiths out of Chicago twice and will use them again after my 2020 South Africa hunt. Do not recall ever giving them my Social Security card/number.

I received an email from SCI not long ago that stated that hunters are starting to be asked to give their social security numbers now for trophy imports.

Is the Trophy Shippers in question using the same logo as in the photo?
The one in the logo is a big sponsor for DSC. I would think they would be very reputable.
