There is some rumor that it is high fence, but others who claim to know the hunter and unit say not a chance... Idaho bull

Might be a little deceiving how far he is behind it but the third that he is hanging on to is not. That looks like about a 15 inch plus third. That’s a toad!

That one looks huge DESPITE the goofy photo....

LOL....he shoulda used a selfie stick to hold the antlers up so he could sit even further back........LOLOLOLOL Hell of a bull regardless but these arms length get as far behind the bull as I can shots crack me up everytime!

From: Franklin

To be honest I didn`t even look at the hunter....that thing is huge. The mass and length of the brows make his head look small....what a freak. Not sure I could hold it together on that bull at 11 yards.

He might be sitting back away's,But that still look's like a Real nice Bull to me anyway you look at it. And with a Longbow to boot.

Not many places you can shoot a bull stripping velvet other than AZ gov tag or some depredation hunts. For a bull that size would be stripped early, before season....

From: Hancock West

that's giant bull. he holding the third from the side, not the whale tail from the back. So he's not as far back as you think even with the straight arm.

From: HUNT MAN
11-Sep-19
Most big bull or most bulls in general will be hard horned by August 15-20. Idaho opens on the 30. With all the trees in that picture I find it hard to believe he is not hard horned and dark antlers. Great bull.

It would even look bigger yet if he had a longer arm. Why the need to make an absolutely awesome bull look bigger than it actually is. Love the 11 yard shot. That is what bowhunting is supposed to be. Super bull

Why do you think high fence??

From: Mule Power
11-Sep-19
I’m not going to speculate but if it’s fair chase the story will be out soon. If you don’t hear about it after this it’s a high fence hunt.

From: Bilmcc
11-Sep-19
What's the deal with the droopy ears? He's dead.

From: ki-ke
11-Sep-19
I’m not speculating....simply an observation as others have also made....the velvet is obviously dried without blood stains or fresh blood on his antlers. Typically, when a bull starts shedding his velvet, he helps it along by raking brush, the ground, whatever is necessary to get that wet, nasty crap off his face and neck. I’ve also observed that pen elk stay rather white and sharp antlered, long after their velvet is peeled, whereas wild bulls have mahogany colored antlers within days of shedding.

Again, Just an observation. I hope this guy really killed a wild bull of his lifetime!

From: Irishman
11-Sep-19
I'm with HUNTMAN, it's kind of strange that it still has velvet on. The only bulls I've ever seen with velvet on in September are spikes. It's quite an accomplishment for a tiny man with a tiny longbow. HA!

From: RK

Coelker

Anymore information ??

From: TrapperKayak
12-Sep-19
I also have to wonder about the dried on velvet. What, those trees are off limits for him to rub? I've never seen any elk much less one that size with dried on velvet and no sign of rubbing, and with white, not bloody antlers. There isn't even any loose velvet. IMO, this bull was shot in full velvet that had dried, and someone tried to peel it off but gave up before the photo was taken.

Cant be a as bad a Rancid Crabbtree that is online right now trying to pass off a HIGH fence elk kill as a hunt. At least he didnt register it in p&y like the deer he did last year.

From: Franklin

Trial makes a point....I could be wrong but I don`t think the hunter is portraying this as anything but a dead elk he took a pic with. He didn`t post the pic and a story....maybe some are reading something into this that it`s not.

From: coelker

Serious question here, how or why do droopy ears lead you to believe it’s not a wild bull?

Im not experienced enough to make a wager one way or the other, but I was always under the impression that big old floppy ears just meant that it was a mature bull. I’ve seen lots of photos of big bulls with floppy ears?

From: RK

I shot bulls with scalp split and both ears flopping like a hound.

Sit in sun awhile they will droop before he gets stiff.
