I keep finding different charts to say different things. I have a 29 inch arrow, Beeman ICS 340's with 100gr brass insert and 125 broadhead. Is the 340's enough spine or should I shoot 300's. 68lbs on a Matthews FX2

That's a borderline question. Everything I have heard was if in doubt go with the stiffer spine. With the 100gr insert I would lean toward the 300's...

I shot a 29" 300 axis with 50 gr inserts and 125 tip out of a #69 turbo spyder with good results.

I’m shooting 300s with 150 up front I’d assume you would be weak with 225 up front on a 340

I’d say you absolutely need the stiffer spine. Although, if broadheads are hitting with field points then I wouldn’t change a thing! Your arrow flight and tuning method will tell you in a couple shots whether you’re adequately spined or not.

Bare shaft tune and find out what you need.

I would say it will be a tad weak, add a wrap to the back and a lighted nock and it will stiffen thew arrow a bit. Shoot it thru paper at 12 ft and see. Shawn

Other option is to cut 1/2" off the back if you can. Add the wrap while at it and 4 vanes and back off to limbs #65 and go with a 100gr tip then you will be fine with the 340s

You didn't mention your draw length. But 340's are no doubt too light spined with that much weight up front. Is it possible to go with a lighter insert?

I think you need 300 for sure. I am 28.5" DL 68.5Lbs . shooting Gold tip velocity with 140 gr tips . I could not get 340 spine to even come close when broadhead tuning. moved to 300 spine and everything was fine.

I shoot 60@29 and use a 29" 300 shaft, 50gr insert, 150gr head but the bow does ibo at 350, which makes a difference. I can get by with a 28.25" 340 if I run a stock insert and 100gr head, its not right but I can do it. If you went with a stock insert and 125gr head it would work.
