Whitetail Deer

Great morning, beautiful out even though it was warm. Harvested this nice doe early.
I was in a Maverick blind under a white oak that was dropping adjacent to a corn field and a Native Grass field.
About an 8 yard shot, slightly quartering away, standing still.
Good job Frank !!! Love the buck pole and the Maverick blind....... Venison to start the season !! Congrats !!
So much for “do I have to brush in my blind ?” Congrats Frank, looks like fresh venison is on the menu !
'Grats Frank. Way to get it done. I still have three weeks to wait.
Congrats, Frank! Did you kill her anywhere near your soybeans.
Thanks guys.
Troy, the soybeans are at my home in KS, this was on my farm in MO. Only corn crop on the farm this year. 4 acres of clover, a couple of acres of rye grain, winter peas, winter bulbs and sugar beets.
The beans at home are starting to turn, maybe later this week or next week I will broadcast the rye grain and clover mix over the top. Deer have quit hitting the beans as acorns are dropping. Thanks.
Two winches on the game pole...You must have high expectations. :)
Nicely done, sir.
Ok if your pole is high enough you can sink an eyelet into the ground /concrete under the deer, attach a cable long enough to reach base of tail .Get hind quarters skinned just enough that you can place a golf ball under the skin and attach cable (looped on end) over the golf ball and winch the skin right off as you raise the deer.....congrats on the venison!
Thanks Steve. Come on up for a hunt to show me, seriously.
Wish I could Frank, just got back from dove hunting and won’t be back up until Nov 11 or so
You can find that deer skinning, golf ball, cable technique on Youtube.
Paul,
Thanks, I did know that. I just wanted Steve to come out. I have talked to him on the phone and he is one heck of a guy, but never had the pleasure of meeting him. Just talking with him I know he has forgotten more about stand set-ups than I will ever know. I thought I might get him to come out and walk my land and give me the pointers needed to up my game.
Steve, offer stands for the late season!
Paul, if I had geese I would invite you in a heart beat!
Thanks again everyone.
Congrats on the nannie Frank it was a hot opener this year!
Thanks guys.
Jeff, it was a twist on 'semi-live' hunt from...
