I posted this in the Pa Elk Tag thread but it didn’t get much interest. Maybe this will help.................;-)

The winner of the raffle tag took this giant bull. 450”? Start the debate.............. : )

Not sure what the debate is about, but that is a killer bull. Some real toads come out of PA!

I just meant whether it will make 450" after the drying period. I have no experience measuring elk, so I have no idea.

Wow, would make a new WR P&Y if killed with a bow. Hell of a bull! Cool to see big bulls in the eastern US!

“Unofficial gross green score”.......ya, I’ll wait for an official measurement.....especially when I see that written. It won’t finalize as much as they are claiming.....but it’s a GIANT bull. The mass is unreal.

There was also a 370"-375" taken with the bow which is now the PA state record since it was first ever taken with bow.

It's a great bull but I don't see 450" there.

You must be talking about this one Xbow- I didn’t Hear a score, but it was supposedly the first bull taken on Sat eve.

Can it be entered in the record books? In Texas even when you kill a free ranging wild elk, it can’t be entered because elk are not a game animal in Texas. Hope this one can

I think I would've held out for a 451" bull.....NOT!

What a testament to the successful reintroduction of elk to PA, this is. Congratulations to the successful hunters, who have indeed made history in this great state. For anyone visiting PA anytime in the near future, I strongly recommend visiting the PGC Elk Visitors Center in Bennezette, PA...you won't regret it!

Yes, RutNut. I heard 370's Gross. But Net will be lower

Txhunter58- YES, Elk are considered Big Game animals in PA. So IF it is bigger than 442 6/8, it would be a new record. (assuming non-typical)

I saw it in the field and It's a giant bull, but I don't see it netting 442. Side to side deductions will hurt its final score. As a rule, the "green gross scores" tend to be a bit higher than the final score.

Big one for sure.
