Hey guys this is my first real hunting day in almost three years! I couldn't be more excited... got in the stand a little late hit it up around 5:45 so far I've seen absolutely nothing. I should be here until sunset so hopefully things change for me today.

This is not the time for day long sits. Go home and try tomorrow morning again. It will be 10 F cooler and the moon is overhead at 8:57 am. Good hunting.

I've been settled in since 515p. Wind is not consistent as forecasted. Its one of those hunts I have to keep looking behind me. Swirling winds. I'm on woodline edge of crop field.

Quarter it and put in a cooler with ice. Very easy to do

Put a couple bags of ice in the cavity and it should be good till morning. As mentioned above quartering and putting on ice is best.
