How old is this deer? Im having a hard time judging him. Im in NE Oklahoma and I dont have the greatest genetics but I'm trying to shoot 4.5 and older. My land butts up to public so it's hard for me to manage but I do what i can.

Wow. Tough one! There are guys that can do this better than me. . I'd guess 4.5 . You can still see his shoulder at the back-line (which is a 3.5 year old characteristic). His neck is wider than his head (puts him at least 3.5) The back isn't sagging. But his belly is dropped in line with his chest (sign of a 4.5). His head is deep in the profile pick (pushed more towards 4.5 to 5.5 year old characteristic).

I'd say he looks 4.5+ but it's hard to tell from the pictures. I'd probably make a decision after seeing him in the field. Great buck regardless!

All you have to worry about is that he is 4.5!! You said you want to shoot bucks at least that, I say he is at least 4.5! Shawn

This is the best photo of his chest I have. I was debating his age but the more I look into it I'm thinking hes 4.5 at least

Looks 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 to me.
Seems like at 5 1/2 + they start to resemble a build more like a young steer...
I don’t run trail cameras ( gonna start this year) so I’m used to seeing better comparisons as the pre rut fires up and they’re swelled up a bit.
Looking at him it’s a nice deer for sure but it’s amazing what an extra year or two will do.
