Well sorta. My buddy has a muzzy hunt in a few weeks, so I'll try and call him in a herd bull. What's next? I have a rutting mule deer hunt in January. How bout y'all? Your next hunt?
Filled my elk tag in Colorado now I have mule deer tag and a Big Horn Sheep tag in Montana. November should be fun!! JD
Chase some pheasants and grouse in a couple weeks until rifle deer opens in Montana then extended archery deer in Utah. Quail and coyotes in NM through the winter. Only bored if I choose to be...
Put the bow away tonight after 2 more failed a antelope stalks and a weekend of no elk.
Rifle comes out now!
WY & KS whitetails. Some pheasant hunting and probably some fly fishing.
Lol depression and whiskey drinkin
What's Elk season :)
Mountain Goats and Blacktails in my future!
Had muzzleloader antelope a couple weeks ago got rifle elk in a couple weeks, then relax for a couple weekends before we dig deep for the long haul, pheasant, quail, rabbit, squirrels, taking my old man for a late season cow elk, ducks, geese, coyotes! I’m hunting something every weekend until the walleyes and wipers turn on in the spring.
The best time of the year is only about a month away!
My sons archery tag now gets turned into a rifle cow tag, whitetail, pheasants, coyotes and before you know its Turkey time.
Kansas whitetails November “ “ Pheasants November Coyote calling through February
Elk in the freezer, pronghorn next week, could start plains muley/whitetail hunting tomorrow, then after pronghorn its girlfriend rifle elk hunt, then plains deer, then girlfriend rifle pronghorn, then either to AZ for Coues or ice fishing around home, then to Chile to huck big streamers for giant browns, home just in time for turkey season.
So, not much going on...
Lou, does the girlfriend know about the girlfriend in Chile?
I have got a CO whitetail tag I kind an looking forward to I have 5000+ ranch that I know have mulies and I hope some white tails. I think I am going to get access on another huge ranch with supposedly 20k acres in eastern CO. Also pheasant and little Okie deer.
And stare at my sheep horns some more in disbelief!
Filled my elk tag, and my buck tag. Called in this bull for my brother last Wednesday here In my home state of Colorado. Next week pronghorn, then out to KS for whitetail come November followed by duck season.
Some public land whitey's but my freezer is busting at the seams after just adding 2 antelope to the elk meat pile!
Been a busy and fun September with archery elk. Next is second season deer.
Next for me is a cow moose hunt in December in south central Alaska.
Wait, there’s stuff after September?
Still have 20+ archery days here to hunt them
WHAT ARE ELK!? I’m truly interested but unsure about the entire situation :)
Eastern plains deer from now until year end, fly fishing in the Everglades in 2 weeks, pheasant hunting and skiing mixed in between.
Elk season is just the beginning.
Matt
Heck, I'm hunting my own elk tags until mid-December in 1 state or another, 1 any elk , 1 cow only and 1 Any Bull...…….
A break in mid-November on a Whitetail tag and helping out on a Sheep hunt (Rocky in Utah), then back after them elk
Good luck, Robb
Archery Whitetail is happening here in Wisconsin plus small game and rifle deer season. Freezer is dreadfully low.
With two Wyo cow elk fresh in the freezer I'm not real motivated for today's opening of deer season with temps still in the 80's but I am taking nephew on his first bow hunt this weekend. We got a stand set up last weekend on a fresh rub line and he found two sheds so he probably won't sleep the whole week. I am going back to Wyoming with friends later in Oct who have unfilled cow tags for a rifle hunt. I'll be packer and cook.
Ground Hunter, I grew up in the UP, have been living in Colorado for almost 20 years. There is no comparison between the two states as far as hunting goes. Colorado is as good as it gets minus the influx of Libs, but hunting starts in August and ends in January every year. It’s a hunters dream and like taking candy from a baby.
Time to start eating as much elk as possible, so I can justify next September!
What cnelk said, plus:
Pronghorn this weekend...
then two doe pronghorn tags in WY by Oct 31
Will pick up Colo Elk and deer tags soon for Oct/Nov hunts
Colo archery sheep in December
Rifle elk hunt with a buddy in 61, antelope in Wyoming, mule deer in CO, late cow tag in CO, maybe take a walk for grouse somewhere there in the middle...
Indiana wt, CO rmbs, Sonora dbhs, CO mt lion. Life is good ;-)
PS: gotta agree with Caz....CO (or ID or WY) are as good as it gets in the lower 48 for an outdoorsman.
Nick, I believe they are some sort of lesser Moose.
On that note my quest of a lesser moose only begins at the end of this week, man I’m pumped, it ain’t over!
Drink beer, shoot whiskey, reloaded rounds for rifle, build some arrows and start planning for next year
Same as before elk season, opener is today for deer. And I work. Elk hunting next year when I retire. Or possibly DYI in CO later this year, if I can come up with a long weekend and a good flight. Friends are going with an outfitter there, and my wife is driving them out. I might just raid their camp... :)
Deer in colorado and Michigan. Some small game in there as well. Try to get my 2.5yo out with me for some rabbit and squirrel.
Replacing carbon fiber arrows with fiberglass arrows to try and fill 6 gator tags in Florida this month!
I used to shoot with a guy who convinced his new girlfriend that every Saturday from mid-August until early December was "opening day" for something. Not sure how that relationship worked out after year one...
Building corrals, pouring cement, yard work everything i didn’t do in August because of scouting and sept because we was hunting lol
Pheasants, bunnies, and whitetails with my girls.
Just added mountain lion to the long list from above!
Just put the final sharp touch- up on my recurve bow arrows/BH. I will be heading out to eastern Colorado with a deer tag in the pocket, next week to hang a couple of stands and then hunt on SWA for a few days. The action may be stronger in November but I am eager to go.
And then in late December, the Yard Hopper goose show starts here in Ft Collins, and in between a few river ducks.
Hunting Wabbits. I also kegged my Octoberfest homebrew today, I will have a few neighbors over for a harvest/end of summer/Octoberfest gathering in the near future.
I'll sprinkle in a little whitetails but I've got pheasants on the brain now. Will be doing a couple SD trips as well as hunting them around home. Little over two weeks until me and the pup can get after them again!
Going through my vast tag soup recipes for just the right one to go with my Weller Special Reserve single barrel.
