I just wanted to gloat a little because I’m so proud of her. My fiancé tagged out tonight with a perfect shot on a nice little 6 pt. she put it through 1 lung and the top of the heart. it didn’t go 60 yards
yes, i know it was over bait. it’s legal and we both have jobs and kids so we have to make the most of it when we can get away for a few hours. also, i know it wasn’t the best shot angle, but i was confident she could put the arrow where it needed to be. please leave your negative comments at the door
Shot angle sounds perfect over top of heart puts it right thru all the big arteries and veins come and going to and from the heart . Absolutely one of the most if not thee most deadliest of shots.
@huntcell you’re absolutely right, she cut off all the arteries on top of the heart and he didn’t make it 60 yards. i took a picture during the necropsy but i don’t feel it’s appropriate to share on a public forum
lol, she’s a year older than me, she’s just very petite.
she had never hunted before she met me 3 years ago so she’s still pretty new to the sport. that’s why we hunt in a two person stand so i can give her some guidance when needed, she does a good job though. also, someone has to field dress and drag her deer. ??
Good job tony! I’m going through the learning curve with a new hunter too! A lot of what we take for granted hunting since we could walk is completely foreign to a lot of newbies!
you said it. i shot my first deer when i was 10 and sat in a stand next to my dad and watched him hunt since i was old enough to get in one. this will be my 23rd hunting season. little things like when it’s ok to stand and when to raise your bow and shoot are much easier taught than learned the hard way. blood trailing is another thing that takes practice. i have to convince her that we need to take it slow and not get ahead of ourselves. deer can switch directions at any point and we don’t want to step on blood and hide it before we even see it. she has a tendency to want to go up and look for the deer first instead of following the blood to the deer.
