I killed one that had an infected hook claw so he likely was killing smaller game after he injured his hook. He still weighed around 150 lbs.

Snuffer- I know of a few 200lb cats that have been taken in WY.

If you want a big cat you need to look for them around elk herds in the winter time frame.

I killed a lion in BC that weighed 183 pounds. I think most of the guys that claim bigger weights are guessing, or they killed a cat with a super full belly. Mine was a mega-giant that ties for #5 all time. 15-12/16”.

I think lion weights are just like bear and wolf weights. Most guys are just guessing. If it didn’t go on a scale, no one knows what it weighed.

Chris, just think about this. What if your lion had been the one that attacked the jogger here above Ft Collins Colorado last fall. The very small, less then 50 pound cat came up behind the jogger. The jogger fought him off and killed it with a rock. I do believe the end result would have been way different, ie, your cat. my best, Paul

From: Halibutman
05-Dec-19
The lion I’m holding weighed 183 pounds. I’m 6’3” tall, and he’s DOWNHILL from me. Look at where his butt is....it’s on the ground. All the way on the ground. See his head? It’s even with mine.

Unless you’re 11 feet tall, a 180 pound cat will have his ass on the ground when you bear hug it.

Mine was “only” 183 pounds. I’ve seen far higher weights cited. I’ve killed 3 lions personally and helped my dad with his lion. My B.C. lion dwarfs my dad’s Tom in body size and his easily made B&C all time.

Here’s one my guide referred to as a snake. Around 9’ but felt like around 120-130lbs. He also had a bite to his right paw that had been infected but was on the mend so he hadn’t been eating for a while. Skull was 14 5/8”

From: WHOCARES

Heather called me with the story today. She said it got pretty wild and exciting! The cat ended up in rocks and kind of a den. It had already nailed a couple dogs. The guides wife said this is a pretty uncomfortable situation but he said it will be fine! Heather was nervous. Had to use the guides handgun because she had to reach through a hole to shoot it while it was snarling and mad. Chad told her to wait till she didn't see its glaring eyes before she shot so she wouldn't hit it in the face! She shot it a couple times. He told her to be ready for it to come running out by her leg! It started to but died. She was pretty excited! She's making some backstrap into stir fry for her husband tonight.

From: BowFly
10-Dec-19
Yeah, things can get very exciting pretty quick with them. My cat managed to snag two of the dogs before he gave up the ghost. Couple days later we had a wounded cat that ran towards me and passed within 3 ft with two hounds on his tail before the hunter could get a finishing shot in him.
