There was a group a few years ago that cut down several large trees near the entrance to State land in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY, so that hunters could not access with their vehicles to park. After the logs were cleared, these wonderful, social justice warriors decided to douse unsuspected hunters and the areas of the park with cologne and perfume. They were finally arrested and charged with harassment. It is also very common for homeowners near or on waterfront properties to call the police during duck/migratory bird season. There are multiple stationary blinds that have use for decades by waterfowl hunters. When the shotguns start going off, they call the police about the "shots fired" in full blown panic mode. They are quickly told that if they call again, they too will be charged with harassment.

Speak for yourself JohnMC, you see what the media wants you to see. NY is a big, big place. I live 25 miles north of the city and have never once experienced anything like the video. I hunt in small plots all over the area. The only concern that people have around here really is they dont want to see a deer dying in their front yard, and I get it. Look at a map of teh state and see the location of the metro area...most of the state welcomes hunting...

Approached a land owner in Westchester County, NY as he was raking leaves in his yard to ask permission. He became irate and made a threatening move with his rake. He was so angry he was spitting as he yelled, something about murder and manhood and fornication. I backed away.

Still skin my deer in my backyard facing my vegan neighbors dining room window. Yes she called the cops. They asked me to not do that. I said absolutely not. Even offered the officers some venison

My buddy and I hunted part of Otis Pike in Calverton on opening day a few years back and out of the four available parking spots, three vehicle had their tires slashed. Our vehicle was the only one spared Im guessing because we were parking a little further off the road then the others. It stinks sometimes sitting in the woods thinking that your car is getting messed up while legally hunting in a designated piece of land.

That popped up on my Fakebook feed the other day. I was struck by the hunter keeping his calm, and more so, by the absolute inability of the dad or kid to 1.) control themselves and 2.) communicate in any way shape or form. It was also really ugly to see the kid start flinging expletives and the dad just stands there, almost admiringly. That's messed up. Agree or disagree, that's not how you discuss things if you have any hope of actually helping.
I'm sure it happens more in the North East. That said, I hunt off a cul de sac of 650K-1.5Mil houses in one spot. Had a mom, dad and two kids walk by one day as I was getting set to go in. I was expecting the video in this thread... But the whole family was legitimately curious. So I let them check out my release, my bow, described how my climber worked, how archery hunting works, the animals I've seen there etc. I probably spoke to them for 45' trying to be sure they walked away thinking hunting was cool. Saw the family again a year later, and they were excited to see me and hear about how "their woods were".
Point being... Not every person up here that does not hunt is off their rocker as that family appeared to be. There are plenty of good, non hunting folks too...

What trial153 will never get is why people in fly over county can’t stand many (like himself) in the NE. They continuously dog on places, much like he does all the time to states like Indiana and people that live there. Thisismyhandle - Read a little closer I did not call you ALL wackos I said the NE is so full of wackos that majority votes in the likes of AOC ect - or something to that effect. So not all but enough people (more than half) to vote in a bunch of people that not only want to turn your part of the country but the whole country to Socialism. For the record I am seeing my once red state Colorado turn to purple and now mostly blue. Thankfully it not as bad as the NE and most of West coast yet. I don’t like but I also don’t get pissed at the person that points it out.
