So having my son full time now and working a full time job limits me severely. Hakon continues to do well and I am so thankful for that. I managed to get a long weekend of hunting the rut in. I hunted hard Fri-Monday and got it done Monday morning at 11am! The first three days were slow but Monday morning the woods were on fire! I was covered in bucks and does all morning. I checked the card at that stand the day before and there were 2 mature bucks there at 11:17am and the wind was perfect for that stand Monday so that is where I sat. Sure enough at 11am a mature doe came running in followed by this guy and another decent buck. I didn't waste any time drawing down on him. 25 yard quartering away shot blew threw him and he died at the top of a huge ravine. I was thankful he didn't go down it...I could only hunt till noon/1 so I got it done in the 9th inning for sure!

Thanks guys! Yes Halloween has always been good to me although the weather in Pitt/Ohio on Halloween was horrendous...rain, wind and warm temps. A cold front came through Thursday night as I got to camp and conditions were right. Took a few days but Monday, like I said, it was on fire! Hunting the right wind, paying attention to cams and being persistent did the trick!

Doing a Euro mount on this guy my man cave is pretty full already! haha I'm not sure where I'll hang the antlers but they will be displayed with pride! I don't plan on another full shoulder mount unless I shoot one bigger than my biggest of 163"...and that will be hard to top!
