Haven’t really done this, since I’m not from Connecticut and all:). But it’ll help pass the time! Hunting the middle of a ridge that drops to the Missouri River bottoms. It’s cold this morning, 18 degrees according to the truck. Already had a 114” 8 point come through at first light.

Hunted here sun up to down yesterday and saw two small bucks and a coyote. Lucky for the coyote he stayed 70 yards out. Been hunting one particular buck, who I had at 30 yards three weeks ago, but he stayed behind a bunch of small trees and never offered a clear shot

Just had a dozen or so turkeys come by. Stayed 50 yards out so I saved my arrow for something a little closer. Besides I shot a hen Saturday and lost an arrow on that bird, don’t need to lose two!

Schmitty, I lived on the west side of the state in eastern Jackson County. There's some great hunting all along the river east to west. Good Luck.

One last try to get this guy before the orange army’s out in full force! I sat this spot last Thursday and Friday all day both days to no avail. He’s got me figured out, showed up Saturday when I was 200 miles north of here:). So the chess match continues! Brought my climber in this time to try and see if he’s not winding me from my current stand location.

I basically thought I was wasting my time. Put the last of my doe pee out, mainly to get it out of my bag since I won’t be using it the rest of the year. He came in on a string, shot him at 14 yards! I’m still in shock! Our rifle kicks off tomorrow and I was worried someone would get him with a gun:).

Thanks guys! I still can’t believe that just happened! I haven’t had time to tape him or anything. Our rifle season starts tomorrow and my daughter is excited to get out in the am so he’s iced in the truck and heading 200 miles north with me.

Did a rough green score this morning and he grossed 161 5/8”, I don’t do nets. I was actually guessing a little bigger, but his average circumference measurement was just under 4”, a little spindly for as big as he looks:). I’m still in disbelief and very thankful to be able to harvest such a great animal! Good luck the rest of the season boys! Think I’m going to take it easy.

Been a great week/weekend!! My daughters not a fan of shooting guns, and too small to draw enough weight to hunt with a vertical bow. So I got her a crossbow to use during our rifle season, and she made an awesome shot on her first big doe tonight:)
