Setting up a ground blind?

I have a question regarding setting up a ground blind or not. My daughter is 7 and wants to deer hunt this year. She loves to shoot her bow but isn't strong enough for legal weight yet so I'm planning to take her gun hunting. Season comes in this Saturday. I have an inside field corner with a few oaks the deer have been hitting pretty regular in a area I feel safe taking her to avoid the orange army. My question is do I attempt to setup a blind along the field edge or just try to tuck in and sit on the ground. I would prefer to setup and blind but will it spook the deer being this close to season? I probably should have done that long ago but I didn't. Those of you who do use ground blinds for deer, what do you suggest? If I set it up today will I be ok to hunt it Saturday or will it screw things up? Thanks,

I think you should be okay. Deer might skirt it a little bit but gun hunting should be fine. Brush it in if you can

I've had great success going well before daylight setting up the ground blind and brushing it in real well. But the biggest reason for success doing it same day is I also put a decoy up. I've shot deer as close as seven steps from the blind because the deer were so focused on the decoy.

I agree with the blind being brushed in and you should be good. I personally would not use a decoy during rifle season while sitting on the ground just because some people will trespass.
Good luck!

How far can she shoot? If you can set up for a shot at 80 to 100 yards the blind should only work to your advantage. Deer will stop and look at the blind and give her a good shot! If you want to be closer for sure brush the blind in well. Either way if you set it up today you will be good for Saturday.

When I set mine up, I didn't brush it in very good and it took the deer - even the fawns, almost 2 weeks not to be spooked by it. Good luck with your daughter.
