Tried calling in a cow using mews in November? I heard some cows talking back and forth. Brad told me I was going to call in another hunter and get shot in the ass. On a side note, crunchy snow is the worst!

Since elk are vocal animals, it’s possible to call them in regardless of time of year. However, based on some experiences I’ve had during archery season, I’m with Brad. No way in God's Creation would I EVER use a call during rifle season!

Yes. The only rifle elk I've killed was called in during a December cow rifle hunt in northern NM back in 2010 I believe it was.

Iv called them in in late October but never November, I have heard very very vocal large herds in November though.

Lost calf mew will bring cows in all year. I had a cow try to fight my fox pro this summer calling coyotes.

I've called during 1st rifle to locate. But never tried calling in.. could be dangerous during bang stick season
