I'm confused by the regs in Kentucky and Ohio.
I see that both states allow night hunting for coyotes. My question is can you use rifles? It looks like OH may be shotgun only and that's lame.
I looked at the regs and it's unclear. Anyone know?

Ohio regs say you can use a rifle.
Ohio regs say you can use a rifle.

Thanks. Maybe it was KY that was Shotgun only...

Thanks Geno. I know I saw it somewhere. I guess I'll scratch Kentucky off the list now.

Night hunting for coyotes in ky is only in February and March and with shotgun only, no slugs. Coyotes are open year round no restrictions during daylight hours.

I would also call the state's Fish and Game department.

Foxes and other fur bearing predators have seasons on them, but coyotes are open game year round (no closed season) for them here in Ohio, and you can use rifle on them in Ohio on private land, (but not during deer any of the gun seasons) but no rifles on public land anytime...
