HUNT 1, Saturday. Seems like a good day to go goose hunting. A few geese in the area but I will have to wait to see how the morning hunt goes. A few years back I hunted 6 straight days without a shot opportunity, SO!. The geese started to fly yesterday morning at 8:15 am and that flight only lasted until 9.

I do know from past experiences that one has to hunt where the geese what to be so with the decoys and calling, maybe I can entice one in. Chase is ready and yes, I have lot of treats for him.

Paul, you should cut some feathers from the first goose you kill today and fletch a special arrow for the trad hunt. Good Luck!

Jeff, I do not have a goose motion decoy so I thought if Chase was in the decoys and wagged his tail----------well you get the point :)

Some people around here are having some luck. At least they do a lot of shooting. I have a friend that lives close to me that has a business, "Ducks in Flight." He has a big farm with lots of ducks and geese. I haven't talked to him lately but they normally do very well. I know he has decoys that flap their wings and look like they are landing.

I heard Chase couldn’t fit into his goose suit this year. Maybe too many treats???!!! ;-)

Good luck, Paul &Chase!

"Mr. Troy, it is all lean muscle-- I have been working out, and seeing your picture recently, you need to start. Lay off the treats". stated Chase

Unfortunately, I’d have to state that Chase has very good eyes, as well as a great nose. Touché, Chase! ;-)

Chase looks like he is thinking " Why are they not coming in ? We might have better luck with a different setup. What if we move the decoys? Or maybe try a different call."

"Chase has a very good eye.." there, fixed it. =D

Paul, I thought you had some kind of motion deke last year? Maybe it needs some breeze for motion?

Pretty cool. One of my favorite threads every year. Thanks.
