Colorado tag refund ?

Trying to plan for when I draw a Colorado and NM tag at the same time. ;) The CO Reg’s state that if you want to return a drawn license you have to pay for it then return it for a refund or point restoration. The wording of it makes me think you can only get one or the other as far as a refund or point restoration. Anyone know how the process works ?

That’s correct. One or the other, but not both.

The one thing I can count on though is not drawing a NM tag.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you turn back a tag you can’t gain a point for the current year. May or may not matter for your situation, depending on the number of points required to draw the tag in the future.

Sticksender is correct, happened to my brother this year after drawing an unexpected tag in UT. Double whammy, lose the tag fee and no point for this year which hurts with all the point creep.

Yeah if you draw both then ditch New Mexico because you’ll be just as likely to dry it next year lol I’d buy a mega millions ticket too
