I was looking at building some elevated box blinds for next year. I don't recall any threads talking about bow hunting out of these. Youtube has numerous vids on different builds....most are for gun hunting. Has anyone built a multi-use one for bow and gun? I have a few ideas but figured I'd throw that question out here prior to building something and see what is out there and mainly what to avoid or problems you encountered. Pics would be useful....gracias.

Bowhunting just make narrow tall shooting ports that go a few inches below roof to about knee height. Shawn

Just make it bow compatible, should be a cinch to gun hunt out of it.

Yup, vertical shooting ports is all you need, then whatever windows you want to look out of. Make sure you make the vertical windows low enough especially if planning for close shots and depending on how high they will be. I’ve shot out of several in Africa, work real good.

These are the type of vertical windows you want, however, I can stay seated and still shoot out of the square window in front with bow, because it’s only a 6’ stand. If you go over 8’ and higher then you definitely want vertical windows.

This stand is 8’ tall impossible for me to shoot a bow out the little windows at anything under 20-30 yards, so I just enclosed the bottom, It’s 8’x8’x8’. The kids shotgun hunt out of top.

In addition to having a tall window or two is having an adjustable (height) chair. Something without arms and able to adjust while seated quietly. With an adjustable chair you can shoot from any window at any normal distance by adjusting seat height.

This one is on a 10’ commercial platform.

There’s a similar thread on here somewhere and I posted several pics of mine, but I’ll post one pic of them again. My windows aren’t vertical but they work for all but the very closest of shots.

Yeah, and you could even set it up like Woodguy and have a trip wire so when the deer come by you can tag them as they stand back up.
