American Airlines strikes again. Hunting Colorado with my dad for lion and bobcat. Lost my bow. Might be a couple days with the weather that’s coming in. Open sight 30-30 for me.

All settled in. Got 4 inches of fresh powder. We are heading out at 2 am to start looking for tracks. My dads hunting a lion. I’m trying to get a bobcat. We have both killed lions before but my dad shot a female and is gonna hold out for a Tom. I have a life size Tom mounted so I’m mainly coming for the experience of hunting with him but I’d love a bobcat.

We cut several tracks. Later in the day we found a Tom who was running with a female. Let the dogs loose and they treed fairly quickly. Unfortunately it was the female. By the time we got to the tree it was too late to chase the Tom. Great first day.

It’s unreal. That one dog was 40 feet up the tree. Cat hit him pretty good. We took him to the vet for stitches and antibiotics

Congratulations to your Dad for the Nice cat. Sounds like you both had a great time and it was nice that you got to be there with him on such a special hunt. Just wondering how in the heck do they get the Dogs out of the tree when they get 40 feet up like that. You guys had quite an exciting experience for sure.

It was interesting to say the least. Ben had to climb the tree and drag that dog down. He would not budge. The amount of fight in these dogs is unreal

Thanks Guys. I’m hunting with Ben Harris out of Montrose. My bags finally arrived but I need to get back to work. We tried for my bobcat but it wasn’t meant to be. I may try to come back out in February with Ben for a Bobcat. I’ll try and do a semi-live hunt.
