As boredom grows I would love to see some of the new taxidermy from the last few years hunts that you received the last year ....I have given my taxidermist free range on my mounts these past few years on my animals and think they have turned out great. Post up!
I want to see some nice whitetail pedestal mounts - thinking of putting my big NJ 10 on a pedestal with habitat. I have about 20 shoulder mounts on the wall. Need something different.
We are also mounting one of the proudest moment of my hunting life...my wife isn't a hunter but we went to Africa this year and she decided to give it a go. She took her first animal (rifle kill) but couldnt be prouder. Beautiful kudu will be back to us soon as well as several others as well as a few birds for me
That blacktail mount is awesome. I REALLY hope to be able to do something similar in a couple years. Just love how they look!
Very nice! Blacktails make some of the prettiest mounts out there, so much color and contrast to them.
If anyone else has pics with multiple deer on a pedestal tree mount, I’d love to see them. I got a great mule deer this year, 7 ft basement ceilings, and piñons all over our place in NM. Thinking of doing a tall piñon and adding to it. Appreciate any contributions!
A little different angle

Here’s a couple that I did on a hedge post, a few years ago. My taxidermist mounted the deer but I did the the rest of the mount myself, with components that came off my farm, that had a lot of significance to me. Very enjoyable project.
Troy, those look great I’m telling you. Very nice.
I did a half mount on my Black Bear. I’m particularly fond of a natural materials used around a mount.
Trestandwolf - that is a cool bear!! Love the natural look.
Troy- I never get tiered of looking at those giants! Great deer!!!
T-Roy can u tell me what forms you used.? They are awesome. I am thinking of putting this buck on a cedar post on a pedestal.
Thanks for the kind words, guys.
Jack.....You better use a BIG cedar post for that stud! ;-) I don’t remember which form I used on the 10 pointer, but I’m pretty sure that I used a Dennis Behn form for the 8 pointer.
My best... not sure about what form was used. My taxi always modifies them. The yucca was used because it is very prevalent in the area and easy to clean.
Nice Stoneman - did you use this form?
Anyone try this McKenzie form yet? Wall pedestal with habitat ? I am also considering as an option.
Troy, those look kinda small, are they your Sitkas? ;-)
Awesome bucks, buddy!
I actually have a vision, an idea to cut a 4-5’ cedar post and drill in some artificial habitat like what I just found on VanDyke taxidermy. Make some sort of base. My buck grew up in cedars and came out of cedars before I shot him. And I have several big cedar trees to cut up from an ice storm damage. I cannot find an example of this anywhere. Thoughts?
I told my taxidermist that I wanted a different looking pedestal. I think he came up with a great looking pedestal!
Awesome mount on that Ram ^^^. Gonna keep following this thread looking for ideas.
Great Looking Mounts and Ideas...this is a different type of "Pedestal" mount that I did a few years back haha...4finger
Just finished this one... Ed F
Not sure if fish count but ready for driftwood
In 2016 I had a doe partially eaten and buried by a cat after I left it overnight. Shot this one out of the same tree the following year. No way to prove it was the same, but cool story none the less!
STRYKER, where the heck did you get that thing at??
This is my sons Caribou that we finished before Christmas, he built the Pedestal and I did the Bou and Habitat...4finger
The tinkering Room...Taxidermy is just a Hobby now for my family and a few close friends...Use to be my livelihood in another life haha...the little Bucks are firsts for a couple of my sons when they were young...done over 20 yrs ago, the bigger bucks are mine...the closest one I took 2 yrs ago and just mounted...needs finish work...You know the stories of Taxidermists being S.L.O.W....Lol...4finger
Not often I do something for myself but managed to do my SK bear last winter.
Ed, that’s a giant!!
Stunning work as usual Dennis!
Beautiful bear Mr. Razza!!
4Finger: Isn't that the truth, taxidermist are slow. I'm a taxidermist and my 10 year old daughter is always hounding me to work on her stuff. She says that she could get it done quicker from another taxidermist.
Not mine. At the taxi today checking on some progress. Pretty cool mount
Indeed Scott haha...I'd be faster if I had one more finger on that hand ;)...But at least the Tinkering room has a Great View of My backyard today...and Everyday :)...4finger
Wow Dennis great work!! You should consider doing taxidermy for a living
Cool Klipspringer! I finished mounting up my sable/pedestal last year now I need to go back for a few more species I'm interested in. A Klippie like that one would be awesome.
Here are a few I got back in 2019.
Some really incredible mounts.
Beautiful mounts here! Here’s a pedestal I built myself. A fence post I found 100 yards from where I killed the buck.
Hey Mo/Ark, did you by chance have Image taxidermy in Linn do that mount? I have a cat that looks identical to that, but with some snow and leaves added in.
I live in Arkansas now. Harpers Pure Country in Damascus. Rodney is an artist. I do like the snow/leaves on yours. Looks really good!
Looks like Rodney does a good job as well. I was just curious because if you take the snow and leaves off of mine our rocks and pose look the same.
Dennis, your black bear is absolutely beautiful.
CO archery ram. It's not a Desert but where I shot him was the desert and the mount reflects it. I have a friend who is an exceptional taxidermist outside of Houston but the conditions made getting my ram to him impossible and losing the cape in 90 degree+ weather was a real threat. I met Greg Brumfield at sheep and goat orientation and thought his work was very good. He did an exceptional job matching the granite where I hunted.
