Fall 2019
Fall 2019
It was great to meet you Highlife (David)...
Combo Bear / Wolf hunts start September 15th 2021. New licensing rules should kick in by then, enhancing the hunt!! Changes coming soon in regards to distances from road to bear baits....
Just curious ,what new license ?
Changing the licensing of the timber wolf.... if all works out, all you will need is a Small Game license. No game seals. Now $450.00 after about $140.00. Still will be only allowed 2 wolves a year. This is part of their plan to help bring up the Moose herd. Not official yet.
Are wolves legal game on the Spring hunt, or just in the Fall/Winter?
Wolf season is September 15th to March 31rst. Bear is only animal open in the spring and of course fish for Northerns and Walleyes.

Many sites are ATV access only... if hunters want to utilize their ATV's to access their Bait Sites we will plan accordingly.
If we bring in an ATV from the states, are there any provincial permitting/licensing requirements needed?
Will you be at the Harrisburg show next month?
So will it be in the Blue Lake area of some where North of Vermillion?
T-roy, you would need registration and proof of insurance to drive an ATV down maintained roads.
I already have the left side of Blue Lake Rd. Brian... Right side is not an assigned area. Its mostly Private lands. PM sent Brian.
Sleddogpa…. we might be at the Deer Turkey Waterfowl expo in Indiana last week of Feb. That's the last show for us.
***GREAT NEWS***
Just got a memo stating the Spring Bear Hunt is here for awhile, beyond the 5 year pilot hunt!!!
Proposal...Non Resident land owners will no longer be able to hunt bears without going through an outfitter.... there are approximately 100 bears taken by non- resident land owners. These tags will now be given to Bear Outfitters. More news to come!!!
Proposed Fall season will stay the same.... August 15th start date...
I like to see this changes the most The proposal would also require people guiding resident bear hunters for commercial purposes to obtain a "Licence to Provide Black Bear Hunting Services."
*** Sorry guys for the duplication... I thought it did not post!!
Here what I have
The Ontario spring bear hunt was cancelled by the province in 1999. (Submitted by Donna Hodson) The province has announced it plans to bring back a regular black bear spring hunting season, subject to annual review.
On Friday, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry John Yakabuski announced the start of government's consultation on the proposal.
"Ontario is home to a healthy bear population," said Yakabuski. "The province will continue to monitor black bear populations, harvest results and sustainability indicators to inform an annual review and ensure bear populations are managed sustainably."
The bear hunt was cancelled by the province in 1999.
In 2014, Ontario re-introduced a spring black bear hunting season, and the pilot has continued each year since then.
Ontario expands spring bear hunt pilot project Ontario plans to bring back spring bear hunt with pilot program As part of this latest proposal, all protections for Ontario's black bear population would remain in place. It would remain illegal to harvest black bear cubs and females with cubs in the spring, a crime that carries a potential fine of up to $25,000 and up to one-year imprisonment.
In addition, Ontario is also proposing to take action to support the long-term sustainability of the declining black bear population on the Bruce Peninsula by reducing the bear hunting season in this area.
The government said the proposal was recommended by the Big Game Management Advisory Committee (BGMAC).
Last spring, the government formed the BGMAC to advise the province on how to improve big game management in Ontario.
The province is also proposing to eliminate bear hunting opportunities for non-resident landowners and non-residents hunting with immediate relatives.
The proposal would also require people guiding resident bear hunters for commercial purposes to obtain a "Licence to Provide Black Bear Hunting Services."
The proposed changes are now available on the Environmental Registry of Ontario for public feedback until Feb. 18
Great news and nice to see sensible game management win over politics.
Yes... all outfitters across Ontario were put on a quota back in April 2016.
