Ozone spray in a bottle
This looks interesting since I had my pack stolen with all my hunting items in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qm5oVSVVv1Q
I don't think it will prevent stolen packs but I believe it is a legit product. I watched the video. Ozone always interests me.
I'm in the market for a new ozone product for next season. This one is about half price on of the one of mine that was stolen. I'd just worry about it freezing. Maybe they have an additive to mix in the water?
Does it come with a free Acorn Cruncher?
I have no experience with using any type of ozone spray for hunting but I do have experience using an ozone spray for another application.
I was a funeral director/embalmer in the early 90's and I used a product called Ozium. It came in a little aerosol spray bottle that resembled a breath mint spray.
I can 100% say that it did work at removing unpleasant odors associated with death in the embalming room. One or two sprays and odors disappeared. I believe it would only work in an enclosed area and was labeled as such.
One of the things about Ozone (O3) is that it has a relatively short half life - 30 minutes. Spray yourself down after you get to your stand and my bet is that the ozone is depleted and ineffective in two hours. Whats nice about the machine is that it produces O3 continually.
The more I think about this device the more I like it and I will get one when it comes out this summer. I know ozone is highly effective at eliminating odors and will do a great job on my hunting cloths but this product has a lot more applications than just hunting cloths. I do not consider the price excessive for an ozone generating machine. I am not concerned with freeze up and I'm in cold country. I would not put in an additive to prevent freezing. There are three You tube videos out there from the ATA show on this machine and they are worth watching if you are thinking of buying.
Get the backpack version for the on-the-go hunter
I just blew my coffee all over the floor seeing your pic.
If you could put nosejammer in it Lou would buy one. If they throw in a deerview mirror and a set of ginsu knives I’ll think about it
How did your anus get in the middle of your back? I hope that’s not genetic.
Thats a real product for dispensing bear spray while running like hell.
I bet that back pack bear spray would work on a mugger or while being chased by the cops.
haha, that's a great idea actually! I'd like to have that too as I know that ozone has a lot of benefits. Though you have to be careful when using it because it is rather dangerous for humans and animals. My friend has an ozone generator in his car that he got from https://www.damagecontrol-911.com/safely-using-an-ozone-generator-in-the-home/
and I can say that it really purifies the air and moreover, takes away the smell. However, you have to air the car after using it, but you'll get used to it.
I spilled about 2 gallons of gas in the back of my vehicle 3 days ago. I cleaned it but it still smells like gas inside. I even told myself I wished I had gotten that ozone dispenser.
After my post above I went online and ordered one. It came in yesterday. I filled it with water put the charger on it and when charged ozonenated the water and sprayed down the back of my Envoy. Gas odor killed.
Interesting, Tom. Keep us posted on whether it eliminates the gas smell completely, or only temporarily.
It would be great to have that when I travel for 10 days and want to spray down my long underwear so I don't need to wash it or take a lot of changes with me. Take 2 pairs and spray it down at night and kill the bacteria.
O3 has been used for years in wastewater treatment for killing bacteria in the water before it is discharged into a receiving stream.
They could have a cute jingle for the product..." ozone in a bottle yea"... ya know like the Sting song! ;o)
That backpack sprayer was invented or at least promoted by the guy in Montana that survived two grizz attacks in the same day. I believe he had bear spray and a sidearm in which he never was able to deploy either in either attack. With his luck, If I was him I would have about four of those strapped to myself.
t-roy, gas odor has not returned.
Supernaut- on a whim I looked for Ozium on Amazon they do sell it! (8) 6oz spray $54.95
Bought one yesterday-works as it says!
I started this thread shortly after our hunting stuff was stolen out of our garage and we still don't have it back. It sits in the evidence locker at the county Sheriff's office awaiting an approval to be released. I bought another Leupold range finder but haven't bought another ozone machine yet. I just might try the ozone water bottle instead because of the price difference. I'm sold on ozone's effectiveness at killing odors and I sure did have good encounters last fall in the deer woods while using it.
The fifth day of our Wis season I had a positive experience with the ozone spray bottle. It was the first time I used it for hunting. Had a 8 pt (2 1/2) come through in my longbow range. When it got down wind of me it stopped, stuck around for about 4 minutes and then just walked off the way it came in. Then it came back a few minutes later and hung around a bit before it walked off again the way it came it. Plenty of shot opportunities but I'm looking for a mature buck. I'm sure without the ozone spray I would have been busted big time.
My biggest concern with the ozone spray bottle if fragility in the cap and spray handle. It's not something I want to carry around in my day pack without protecting it from damage.
I went ahead and bought another ozone machine like the one that was stolen. I thought hard about the water bottle but also worried about the durability of the spray nozzle once I seen them at the store. I think for home use for sanitizing things in a controlled environment it would be durable enough. I also thought about using it in winter conditions and it possibly freezing.
