So I did a 2018 year in review last year, I have included a link above if anyone is interested in looking back. Seemed that a lot of guys enjoyed it so I figured I would do a 2019. I didn’t start as fast last year, had some work projects do wrap up, so got going in March.
—Jim
I’m not going to go into a whole lot of detail on any specifics, trying to hit the high points and share a lot of pics. I’ll be happy to answer any specific questions if anyone has them though. If you are looking for lots of dead critters you may want to check out now, I had lots of adventure but had a hell of a time getting animals on the ground.
I started the year in Argentina chasing free range Red Stag. It was a fun hunt, I made some mistakes on the booking and the outfitter wasn’t really as archery friendly as I had hoped. They provided what that said, I did a poor job of researching exactly what I was front in to. Still a fun trip, but really didn’t have very many opportunities for a stag.
—Jim
Representative Red Stag from the ranch. These were all rifle kills though.
—Jim
Got home from Argentina and apparently my Girlfriend decide we need a new big white dog while I was gone!
—Jim
Next up was the Pope and Young convention in Omaha, NE. Good times with good people.
—Jim
Some heavy hitters In this room over the weekend!
—Jim
They were nice enough to give Donald Trump JR the seat right behind me on Friday night. Im sure it was a high point for him ;)
—Jim
Next up was OK turkey season, I Don’t always take it super serious, but I was able to arrow 2 nice birds this season with limited hunting time.
—Jim
I took a kid that works for me on a quick long weekend KS turkey hunt. It was tough, saw a few birds but couldn’t connect.
—jim
We didn’t have a lot of turkey action, but mornings like this sure make it worth it.
—Jim
I found a little time to spend a weekend with my old man for some bass fishing. I really gotta make that happen more often...
—Jim
No rest for the wicked. June found me on a 2 week hunt in Australia. First stop Ironbark Outfitters for water buff!
—jim
Buffalo on the flats
—Jim
I next fly 1/2 way back south to chase Chital, or as I would say Axis deer. I couldn’t connect on those string jumping bastards. Had a couple good opportunities and one miss.
—Jim
Another Australian hunter in camp was able to get this nice buck though. He made a beautiful stalk and a great shot. Watched it all from across the creek drainage.
I love the kangaroos over there. Super cool animals.
—Jim
I didn’t have a hunt in July, but snuck our for a weekend in Utah to shoot Total Archery Challenge with my good friend Nativeokie.
Park City is a fun place.
—Jim
John Dudley was begging us all weekend to let him take a pic with us, so we caved and obliged him Sunday. ;)

The next weekend I was off to BC for a Stone Sheep Hunt. I did a thread about it when I got home, I’ll throw some pics in here, but if you are interested In the full recap I’ll insert a link to the thread.
—Jim
Probably the best Hunt I’ve ever been on.
—Jim
Home away from home.
—Jim
You can see the ram pretty centered in this pic about 95 yards below us. Slam dunk with a rifle.
—Jim
This is what I look like about 45 minutes after blowing the shot of a lifetime....
—Jim
And how my feet look after 14 days on the mountain and about 1,856 miles!
—Jim
I got home on a Sunday, and hit the road for Colorado antelope the following Friday. Fast and furious. Drive Friday, kill antelope Saturday, help my buddy find his Sunday morning and home Sunday eve!
—Jim
First Antelope. I guess I can accidentally kill something every once in a while...
—Jim
I actually as a couple weekends without a hunt to finish out July. We took the chance to spend a couple days at the lat house and a good hike in S/E OK.
—Jim
Wore the dogs out in the OK “mountains”.
—Jim
And a summer staple, range time.
—Jim
Setting up the iguana bow. More on that to come....
—Jim
A morning dove shoot wirh some buddies is a good way to start off a September!
—Jin
September is for Elk in my opinion, but I didn’t draw a tag, so figured it would be a good year for a moose. And a goat too. So BC bound I am again.
—Jim
Moose camp. Pretty plush!
—Jim
Spike camp. Hard to beat it.
—Jim
Little small for a first day goat. Passed him at 25, might regret that later!
—Jim
BC is incredible, and goat hunting is awesome.
—Jim
The view on Moose Valley from Goat Mountain. With a few goats thrown in for variety!
—Jim
Yeah, this is where goats live, yeah, that is where we just came down! Yeah, it can be scary!
—Jin
Nanny at 15 yards. Can’t see him, but a STUD billy directly behind her. No shot!!!!
—Jim
The weather went to crap, so basically pushed us out of goat country. But unfortunately It was just rainy and foggy. Not cold. The moose really weren’t rutting too good. Has raked and grunted a solid shooter bull into 30 yards, but couldn’t get a shot through the brush. This archery hunting is kinda hard!
—Jim
Lower end of Moose Valley. Only one arrow loosed and no animals were harmed in my 4 weeks in BC this summer!
—Jim
Home to Oklahoma just in time for some early season Deer hunts.
—Jim
Hard for me to pass these guys, but I’m looking for something a bit older.
—Jim
Hard for me to pass these guys, but I’m looking for something a bit older.
—Jim
Was able to connect on my biggest Whitetail to date. Not a giant, but I was pleased.
—Jim
Mid November rolls in and I find myself packing for Alaska. Kodiak island Sitka blacktails. First afternoon, you can see the boat below us.
—Jim
Kodiak is another incredible place. My partner Bigeasygator in these 2 pics. Hella good dude to hunt wirh.
This hunt was covered pretty well in another thread too. So I’ll just throw out a little eye candy.
Skiff coming in.
—Jim
Every once in a while the sun comes out.
—Jim
On the beach waiting for pick-up.
—jim
Me trying to explain how I can have 4 deer at 15 yards and no shot!
—Jim
Good times on the boat with and absolutely great group of guys. Doesn’t get much better.
—Jim
Another evening pick-up with light packs.
—Jim
That it? Geez, you hardly hunted at all!
Finally the bigeasygator gets us something to pick our! Last day redemption. I came up short on this one too. I had some opportunity, but spent a lot of time trying to get my partner on a buck.
—Jim
Almost jaq, we are only to November!
—Jim
Hell of a week with a great group of guys. My hands are in my pockets because I didn’t have a skull cap to hold up...
—Jim
Got home in time to have my buddy Bake over to OK to hunt some deer for a few days. I consider Bake one of my best friends and one hell of a good individual. Look forward to many more hunts with him.
View from a stand in north central OK.
—Jim
Some good sign in the area.
—Jim
Bake was able to connect on a nice management buck on his last evening.

For December my best friend and I take a few days and head for Florida to hunt some lizards. I’ll put the link for the thread of this hunt in too. But a few pics just for fun!
—Jim
Iguana with the bow.
—Jim
Iguana with the blow gun.
—Jim
Almost sunk the boat with 39 iguanas for the day.
—Jim
Got home from FL and took a few more days in the tree stand and decide I was about spent on the tree time. Decided to try to kill a few ducks to finish out the year. Had a few decent hunts, but just not a lot of ducks around.
—Jim
Spent the holidays with in StLouis at my sisters house with the family. Nice view of the arch from our hotel on Christmas morning!
—Jim
My nephew Max. He is almost ready for a sheep hunt!
—Jim
Back to the duck marsh to start off 2020 right.
—Jim
Still not many damn ducks around!
—Jim
Little winter scouting. Starting to think about those spring turkey hunts already!
—Jim
Started 2020 off with a couple shows. Spent a day at DSC with a good buddy and his grandson. Had a good time and met some good guys.
—Jim
Looks like a lot of fun Jim, but what do you do in your spare time? my best, Paul
Next up Sheep Show in Reno. Fun weekend with some food friends. Luckily it’s only one weekend a year though ;)
—Jim
Pack races at sheep show. I did NOT compete!
—Jim
Funny you should ask Paul, I just got a 3rd job. Gotta keep it going for 2020!
—Jim
What an incredible year! Those BC hunts look phenomenal, harvest or no harvest.
That’s all I got fellas. Hope it was enough!
I completely realize I am one lucky SOB to get to do a lot of what I get to do. But in all honestly I’m not that special, lots of this stuff can be done by many of us. Get out there and make it happen guys!
Thanks for following along, hope to do it again next year.
—Jim
Geez Jim! Way to go man. You really got after it. Thanks for the post and showing us what’s possible. Just an incredible year!
Solid work once again Jim. Way to make it happen!! Hunt
Another action packed year in the books! Congrats on another pile of great adventures. Kodiak was a blast!
Awesome year Jim! I’m ready to see your recap for 2020 already! And I too look forward to many more hunts and dead things!
Excellent job, it's not all about the kill, looks like you made memories for a lifetime in one year!
I wanna be like JTreeman when I grow up
Awesome wrap-up Jim! Great photos and a pile of memories! That is one helluva fun year! Good luck in 2020!
Awesome stuff Jim, thanks for taking us along on the journey. Even though there weren't as many animals harvested as you might have hoped, you gave a tremendous effort on a whole pile of adventures. Well done!
Good thread Jim!! What a year man.
Sorry I missed ya @ the Sheep Show.
Speaking of holding a sign on the side of the road-------- I was coming home and got off I-80 for fuel in Elko Nv. about 0330 and there was this rolly-polly girl with a sign saying Wendover ~~ I can Syphon Gas...…
It took me about 50 miles to figure out what she was 'advertising'!
Thanks for sharing bud.
Good luck, Robb
That gator is awesome. Some classic selfies as well nicely done.
Holy crap....I'm exhausted! You do more hunts in one year than 90% of us will do in a lifetime! Congrats on a great year, Jim, and thanks for sharing it here.
Hey, Robb....did you turn around? lol!
How do you think he figured out what the sign meant? :)
Good stuff Jim. Great “catching up” with you in Reno. Here’s to 2020!
Dang!!!! And I thought I was a hunter!! Congrats on the hunts!!!!
Awesome Jim....thanks for making me feel like such an underachiever....
What an incredible year! Congratulations on a pile of lifetime hunts!
Good luck in 2020!
Incredible year, Jim. Thanks for taking the time to post it up. Gives me something to aspire to!!
That is one hell of a year! What do you have planned for 2020?
We have our agreement...next time you shoot first and I’ll pack 3/4 quarters of the animal!
Helluva season bud, and great catching up again at Sheep Show. Already looking forward to the next adventure!!
Simply incredible! Glad to see people making their dreams come true! Thanks for sharing.
Man, that's an impressive schedule for 2019!
Truly livin' the dream...Congrats, Jim!
Great stuff Jim. Too bad you don't get out more.
Your "season" would be a lifetime achievement for most of us, regardless of whether you punched tags. Great year, thanks for sharing!
Wow that's incredible. Like others have said that 's a lifetime of experience in a single year. So many cool places in there. Very cool.
WOW... YOU KEEP BUSY... CONGRATULATIONS ON ANOTHER YEAR.
You’re out of control Jim. Have you sought out help? I think it’s time to plan a Bowsite intervention. We all like hunting Jim, but this isn’t normal. :)
Thanks for sharing, incredible season and awesome pics
Incredible!! Thanks for sharing!
Epic year Jim! Congrats!
I obviously need to step up my game!
Mark
One heck of a season man!! Keep the memories rolling!
Awesome pics! Congrats on a great year!
Living the dream, man! Incredible hunts!
I want to be Jim when I grow up. Unbelievable!!!
Awesome.... what a great year. Ed F
Hey man, I was doing great until the picture of your feet! Seriously, that's an amazing year. Now I see what you meant at Sheep Show when you said you may need to tone it down just a bit this year. But 2019 will go down as one heck of an adventure year. Thanks for taking the time with all that. Alan
Incredible season Jim! Thanks for taking the time to post
What a year! I am truly impressed and proud of you. Love you, Dad.
Wow! More adventure than I'll have in a lifetime I think! Looks like fun!
What a year!! Thanks for the pics and motivation.
