Just a heads up last day to get your apps in. Probably be getting a refund for my type 1 unless I get real lucky in the random draw but should draw my cow/calf tag. Nothing to do now but wait, and wait, then wait some more May seems so far away.
So who else applied and who sat out due to the change?

Just snuck mine in this morning before work! I like to procrastinate!

Apps are in! With any luck at all I should have a cow tag this year, with a lot of luck I'll have a good tag in the random.

Just buying a point this year, too many other irons in the fire to wait four months to find out about WY. Probably would have applied for a long shot tag before the change in results date.

It makes me a little nervous to say this, but my tag is guaranteed. I turned mine in last year for medical reasons and should be getting a form to fill out in March I believe to turn back in. I think it costs $15. Then I should receive my tag when everyone else get theirs this year. I hope nobody ever needs this service in the future, but if you do it is super nice.

Applied special with 2 PPs. Too iffy with 2 for the regular draw now.

Gave up waiting for the unit we've hunted before. Applied general, not special, with a point or two to spare (hopefully).
Here's to hoping WY general lives up to the Bowsite hype :)

Gen tag, Lou?

Sitting out this one due to the change. Not enough points to draw my unit and very low odds for a random tag there. Decided the low odds were not worth the length of the investment. Probably just be buying points until I'm firmly in the mix for a preference tag. Not bailing on Wyoming by any means, just adjusting my strategy based on the changes.

Do you still have to wait until later, if you just want to put in for a preference point?

I've been changing my mind every 10 minutes for the last week. When I factor in friends willing to travel and help, their work vacation commitment deadlines, the long wait has really messed with planning. Also, my kids and I have decent odds of drawing elsewhere.

bowhuntr,
Yes. The preference point period opens after the draw. It extends into the fall. I'm thinking October 31 deadline.

The preference point purchase period is July 1st to November 2nd this year. I'll wait for the elk results and quotas to be set before applying for deer and antelope.

I hate the wait... I have a 11 Utah points, and don't want to apply, as I should draw the tag I want in Wyoming this year with 11 points there as well... wishing they wouldn't have changed the award date...

Snowball's chance in hell of drawing anything in Utah with 11 points. You're safe. ;-)

My general license is guaranteed in the regular drawing with zero points .
Good to know a few people. ;-)

Yep..... applied general, regular with a friend & enough pts to draw. I was going to be in that no-mans land and decided that I wanted to hunt WY. I was thinking about sharing pts with another bowsite member, but asked my hunting partner if he was interested and he jumped at it. It'll be our 1st WY hunt.

Kind of a Reunion hunt for my Wyo bow elk camp, 3 points for them should get them a Cheapie Fee Gen tag, I'm in Solo appl with my 1 pt, Cheapie Fee.
Good luck, Robb

I waited right up until 11:30pm tying to talk myself into it. I have 9 points and was iffy on my unit, but because of the change this year to May for results I didn’t do it as it would have kept me out of the Utah draw with 15 points. Can only do one. So.... I will do Utah and AZ with point guard. The late results should increase odds for many.

Went ahead with just the hopes of hitting in the random & not likely burning any points. I figure it's much better odds than these Powerball tickets people buy. Granted not near the reward but it'll be pretty sweet! Somebody's gonna win!
