Sitting over a natural salt lick last September hoping a bull elk would come in. Instead I get bull moose. First time I've been up close to one. Just out of curiosity is this a good shiras bull?

I'd say you would want to shoot him if you had a moose tag. He'd make Pope and Young. Here in Idaho, a "trophy" bull moose is considered anything with a spread over 40". I think that bull is around that size. He has pretty good pans and multiple brow tines on each side. All good indicators.

I don’t know about antlers, all I see is many, many moose steaks and mountains of moose burger. I’ll bet it’s good too !

Almost as big as the one that had my brother pinned down at about 5 yards one time.... He wouldn’t have had time to bring his .58 to bear, and I wasn’t sure I could stop him fast enough with the .54, so we were pretty OK with it when he swapped ends and trotted off...

I’d say better than average and clearly past 40”. Not a giant but good Idaho representative.
