Looking for a target that I can take with me on long distance hunts that won't take up to much room in the truck bed. Been using the insert for my glendel buck and it's just not made for that. I'd like it to be compact, has to take broadheads, and don't want to spend much more then a $100 any suggestions? I was at Academy a few days ago and liked the looks of the Morrell Dual threat and the Block 6x6. The Morrell was more the size I was looking for but the Block was only $20 more and looked like it would last twice as long. Anyone have experience with these 2 targets?

Rinehart makes a little pyramid target, I have one. Small, lightweight and durable. Will take broad heads as well as anything will. I think they are around $80.

I was looking at my 2 year olds wallmart foam basketball that he got for Christmas. I don’t know if it would stop an arrow but for a couple dollars I’m going to have to try.

Avoid the cheap layer targets. I bought a Cabelas one and even with my weak bows I was blowing through in no time at all. If you can afford the 18-1 that would be perfect.

I have the rinehart ball which is about the size of a basketball. Just hung it from a tree. Almost too small but is fine for shooting a few arrows at 20 yards if you just want to check your set up.

I like my Rhinehart 18-1 the best. Their ball works for a single shot but moves around with impact and is a bit small. I used 2” thick ethafoam targets years ago but blow thru them with carbons these days.

Not sure if that link worked. Google round Rinehart target. They make one about the size of a basketball. They're $30 at Cabela's.

I'd contact Highligh. The rinehart 3-D inserts are a good target if you can get your hands on them. I have a elk one in the back of truck now.

Rhinehardt 18-1 best deal out there. I take mine with me all over and only shoot broadheads at it. It has lasted 3 years and I will get another out of it. 100 bucks or so. It's about 1.5 times the size of a basketball but heavy and dense. Shawn

I took a old bag target and make it into a 12X12 target. Being soft it fits just about anyplace. Use it only as a mobile tags, had it for years now. Ed

Buy a single piece of SM insulation. Cut squares the size you want and silicone the pieces together or even just run duct tape around the works. Easy, cheap and dependable.

Scoot, depends on your arrow. If you have aluminums, or FMJ's it's no problem for sure. That's all I shoot so not sure past that.

I'm with APauls, you could buy one sheet of 2" thick Owens Corning pink foamular insulation for less than $25, cut it into squares or rectangles and just stick pieces in your truck wherever they fit, or pack it around your cooler to help with insulating it. When you want to shoot at it, stack up the pieces, wrap a ratchet strap around it and crank it down. I shoot FMJ's into styrofoam and residue isn't an issue. I have shot carbons into it and it does leave some residue but it scrapes off easily and isn't a big deal.

Rineheart 18:1. It'll last for years and years. I've had one for 3 years now shooting broad heads and field points into it. It heals right up. I paid $100 for mine and couldn't justify buying anything else. Its far exceeded any block target I have ever had and I'm betting I'll be shooting it another 5 years minimum.

I picked my 18:1 up from Camofire a few years back. The ball works great too. If one is going to take a shot at an animal at 50 yards you should be able to hit the ball without issues!

I've enjoyed this one, I just added a 'head' to it that clips off for transit travel.
It takes broadheads just fine

I recommend the Rineheart 18:1...I have the Rineheart ball which is okay for a single shot, but the Rineheart 18:1 is great for multiple shots and will last you multiple seasons.

Same as Mike and APauls.
2" Pink foam panel (4x8) Cut into 18" Squares and Gorilla Tape them together. That cube has lots of miles on it and still stops arrows dead. FMJ's.

I use a cheap morrell target that has 2 fp sides and 2 bh sides. I only shoot fp in camp so anything works really.

I shoot FMJs and enjoy how easy they are to remove from my layered targets. How hard is it to pull arrows w/ broadheads out of the 18-1 Rinehart?

I made a bigger target out of insulation board. Works great for broadheads and field points. I mostly shoot field tips into a bag target, but this one holds fine. I like it way better than the block target I wore out.

Anyone have a target the actually lasts? I like the rinehart. Good foam but they wear out pretty quick for me

Milk jug full of sealing foam. The kind you put along your windows, draft areas, etc.
Don't them all at one time as it takes longer to cure. Once cured you can spray paint different colors on them for various ranges, etc. They last for years..

Ermine, I have the 18-1 and have had it for 3 years. I shoot only broadheads at it and maybe only a couple hundred shots a year but it is holding up well! Shawn
