I am looking for a very good place to Hunt Elk in New Mexico, Big Elk as possible. Can anyone recommend some good outfitters and units Thanks in advance

How much do you want to pay? For $12-15,000 (plus tips) you can get some good hunts with a chance at a big bull of you can close the deal.

For big elk as possible, look to the Gila units.

Willing to pay for private? Ted Turners ranches or the Jicarilla Reservation would be a good start. The Mescalero is good, but not as big.

Look into units 12,13,15,16a, 16c,17, 34,36. There’s plenty of good bulls in other units but unless I was going to the Jicarilla or Vermejo I would look at these units.

Contact Michael Delao of Gila & Apache outfitters. He runs high success on some DAMN good bulls. He also has access to a few LO tags each year. Reserve, NM. I have met him and he is a good dude.
