Was just reminiscing about last hunting season and this deer I put an arrow just over for the second year in a row. What do you guys think he gross scores? He is a huge bodied SK buck as well.

I think the mass will carry him to 190”. Might not be as short as he looks because of the mass. Super buck!!

Ya his mass is insane. 2019 was the 1st year he put a front on one side. I think he was 7.5 yrs last year probably. This was him back in 2015

The mass is super, but with no brows, average G3s and short mains, 21" inside spread, I think mid 170s is more realistic. Without the extra mass he's a 160 buck, and I don't see 20" of extra scorable mass.
But who cares, he's an awesome buck! Why don't you kill him this year and tell us for sure. :-)

I agree with Lou about the no brows costing him a few inches. But looking at him again on a computer screen rather than the phone, I'm more convinced that he is quite a bit longer on all his measurements than it looks at a quick glance because of the mass. And he has the big head of an older buck. I'll stick with saying he's pushing 190".

To me it’s not over 180 because the fronts aren’t there. You need big fronts to score high. The spread isn’t huge either so the main beams aren’t long either. But I love mass so that buck is awesome.

Thanks for all the guesses. I'm hoping to get another chance this year. I was guessing low 180s. In 2018 I watched him standing next to this guy who went 178, and he had a much bigger frame but no fronts. 2019 he put on one front. Regardless of score he has become a bit of a legend to me and I'd love to take him

OK, my bad and good thing I'm not a mule deer guide!! I enlarged the pics after Tony saying that the buck grow a front on one side and realized that the buck only has one G4 My new guess is 183" gross. But that's as low as I'm going :)

It will absolutely gross UNDER 190. A crab claw 3x4 with NO brows doesn’t stand a chance. That nice 178 buck has brows AND good fronts, even if the frame is bigger that might add a couple inches, but you are going to loose 20” from the fronts and brows! I’m with Lou and say 160s-170 max.
I’ve scored a few old 3x4s with mass. They are awesome deer but don’t score well.

Low 180's gross. Net will be hurt by the weak front end. Will finish around 170.
Score be damned! That is a shooter anywhere! Love the mass! Definitely an older age class buck and a worthy trophy. I would be hunting him hard....

Wild wilderness. Defintly agree with your points. Keep in kind though the 178 only had 12 inch G2s. I'm totally confident he is well over 160though. His G2s are strong and his mass is crazy. I agree not 190 but he has a frame that I can instantly recognize at a half mile with only binos it's so huge. Defintly hoping to get another chance next year and find out what he goes

Tree line yes his mass and my history with him makes him a huge trophy to me. I only have 3-5 days a year to hunt mulies but this will be my target for sure next year.
