Nice job. I keep telling myself I'm gonna kill a Turkey in the woods and before you know it I'm on the field edge like normal hunting. Just need to tell myself get in the woods and stop doing the norm
i used a chair for a while. i just think it make me stick out more. i sit on a cushion and try to break my profile up as much as i can. wearing a leafy suit helps a ton.
i bought a "turkey bow" this year and i think it makes my odds of getting drawn a lot better.
i bought an elite Valor 29" ATA and i shoot about 57lbs. i can draw it effortlessly. simple 3 pin sight and no bells or whistles except my bow mounted camera (which i want to upgrade)
Thank you Rut Nut and olebuck. The seat is to give more ability to shoot at a different angle, but I want something that is low to the ground but not reclined.
I was thinking of something like this Browning Woodland seat: https://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=2519019&type=product&WT.z_btnclk=YMAL-2519019&WT.z_pg_ref=prd2515406#BVQAWidgetID
I tend to be a bit of a minimalist, partly because I am lazy and partly because stuff complicates things more than I desire. So I don't know where I will end up.
The primary reason I am really drawn to bowhunting for turkeys this year is our new state law that won't let you kill but one bird in the first 10 days. I suspect if I go with the bow and no blind, that 10 day thing won't be that much of a factor.
Candor, this is what I use and have for years. I carry a couple of cheap Menards foam pads as well(one for seat one for back). Gets me off the ground just enough so that my longer axle to axle bow is no issue, and I like the slight incline in the seat...I always put the low side towards the tree.
