Hope this finds you all well and coping amidst the pandemic. These are very tough times we are in and difficult to even think about hunting these days.

Shot this magnificent NJ 10pt buck 11/11/2019. No prior history. Shug officially scored it at 166 4/8 gross after drying period, and 155 1/8" net. He dressed out at 193#. Got the deerage.com results back. Care to guess age? (got age back on my velvet 10 as well - will post separately)

Not sure in age, but any buck that nets 155” is a toad, IMO! Big time congrats, Jack.

I'm vacillating between 4.5 and 5.5... It would be a very big one either way though!

6.5 Years old on BOTH! Most of you nailed it or were close. To me, "age" is the biggest trophy in this state, but antlers are nice too I suppose :)

for sure - will be two mounts. Velvet is going full sneak on a Matt Thompson on a hard turn (lots of shoulder). The other one will be my first pedestal mount. Mears PD74. Working on the habitat this weekend. Cedar octagon pedestal, and I have some cut cedar trees to put on top. One for the mount, the other to make a "rub". Plus some grasses, etc... You better believe I will post them! lol

The story is as good as the buck Jack! I’m from NJ and can’t believe that guy was walking the woods! Congrats

Wow! 6.5 in NJ? Is that rare for a deer to get to that age in that state?

"Wow! 6.5 in NJ? Is that rare for a deer to get to that age in that state?" Well taking two at that age in the same season - one would think not. But having hunted here for 45 years - any buck once it makes it to 3.5 is generally a trophy. I did shoot one in 2015 I called the "Tripod" (walk on 3 legs, the other rear leg would hang-up) that was also 6.5. Usually by age 4.5 most are within P&Y ranges (but not all), so they become very hard to pass. Also by age 3.5 they become very ghost-like due to heavy pressure.
