This is the last week of Coyote season and I am taking full advantage of it thanks to being sheltered in place. Five down so far this week!. Enjoy.

Nice work, Pat.

I focused on investing excess cash on stocks this week. It's the first time I added to our positions in several years. I'm glad I did, so far. We'll see how it pans out in the long run.

What the hell, all runners with a 300? Tough critters. I shot a coyote dead center chest with a .308 and actually had to finish it off toughest animal out there.

Kill em all great job Pat when trapping I either dispatch them with a 22 or pellet rifle one shot in the lungs it’s over quick good luck Lewis

Good Job Pat. I went out this morning but all I saw was deer. It sucks that I still have to go to work everyday. If they would Let me stay home I would have a snare line run all over the place. I've always wanted to do your bait pile thing but I can do the same thing with snares. But it looks like fun. Keep up the good work.

Good job Pat. No close season in Georgia. I shot one years ago in Montana with 180 grain 3006 through the shoulder area and he was still walking when I found him down the hill in a dry creek bed. Another shot up his butt did him in for good. Tough critters for sure.

I'm guessing you are too close and bullets were zipping right through. I've got that same rifle/ caliber and killed a big buck with it once with subsonics and a suppressor.

Bingo. Clean holes in and out. I’m using Vmax but there’s not much expansion. Of the 5 dogs I shot here’s the recovery distances in yards:

0, 10, 15, 70, lost

Way better results with my .223 but can’t bring them up to my NY place.

Good practice for your new Ohio property. Yotes are open 24/7/365, although there is some talk about changing a few things.

From: Teeton

I can't believe they didn't go right down. Not familiar with the 300 BLK. But have killed some with a 85gr Sierra boat tail hollow point. Out of my 6mm and they seem to go no place when hit. Also its only loaded to about 2900 fps. With this load deer rarely go more than 50 feet. I kill one coyote with a 17 HMR at about 40yds with the Hornady 20 gr. Hit it right behind the shoulder. He only went 25 yds.. Can a 300blk be loaded up with lighter weight hollow points?? Yes know they died, but I'm kinda shocked.

30-Mar-20
Why does NY even close the season for coyotes at all? Even CA is open 365 days a year.

Did you ever end up buying that place in Ohio?

From: Smtn10PT

It's a sad day when the coyote & carp population is being managed. I doubt there's a shortage.
