It is a bobcat. Tough to identify the species he may be pouncing on though

Judging from the black tip on its tail and the black ear tips, it is a bobcat.

I have one that I’ve been getting pictures of for two years. Furs aren’t worth much and I don’t care to mount one or I’d trap him.

How does one go about releasing a pissed-off bobcat? I saw a video online with a game warden releasing a trapped mountain lion, and it DID NOT look pleasant or safe!

Slab of plywood, with a notch at the bottom edge for the trapped foot.

Bobcat are easy, Wolf not so! Bobcat I use a bin or tub (dollar general) with a corner cut out. Get it over top of it, pin it down. Release the trap pull off the bin. Often they lay there. If I could post it my first one was hilarious. Took my brother and I about 15 minutes. Things my brother and I do. Wolf: 4x8 sheet of plywood with handles screwed on back, v notch in bottom, pin leg, hand off plywood to brother, release trap, hide behind plywood like little sissy! LOL Some use a catch pole not that brave!

Me and buddy did a 100 pound lion with a catch pole. I was the trap guy he had the pole. Better trust the pole guy. Also used plywood I like the plywood way better.
