I was lucky enough to draw early season tag the first time ever applying . In the past I've always drew tags with family in group but this year looks like I might be going solo. Anyone willing to share any past experiences in this unit? I've been doing some research online. What is road network like? How would you consider the terrain ? Camping locations easily accessed for a camper? I've hunted Arizona, Colorado, and the big horns but never in new Mexico. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Main road from snow lake to reserve is pretty good, after that it can be a crap shoot. I would highly recommend a UTV for getting around on the "backroads". Camping can easily be done all across the unit. Water is available at snow lake but you will have to go back to Reserve or Winston for any fuel you may need.

Roads everywhere. Elk everywhere. Just pick a canyon with some tanks and go hunt.

The terrain is not bad compared to other states. It can get steep, but not unhuntable.
