5:16 AM LIVE from Ma*
Finally the dragons stopped blowing their cold breath upon me. At least for now. Im back in the spot where i setup directly under them a couple days ago. I can hear at least 2 gobbling a couple hundred yds. away. Hopefully the didnt hear me comin in.

Usual scenario is gobble like crazy in the tree and silence when we hit the ground!

Now 3 gobbling in 3 different directions. One close under 150 yds. Still in the tree though.

Do you answer them with a gobble call?

Two jakes came in. Of course on my offhand side. And And after schlepping this camera gear in for days there were two logs right in front of the cam so i didn't get it on film. Did get the recovery though.... big letdown. Jake i guess 14 lbs. now wheres your grandaddy. Kinda weird sooting left handed.

Under those two logs that are leaning on the giant pine. Those were what was in the way to film. They were gobbling out in front of me which would have been perfect for filming!

Ohhhh, I thought you were out with the bow. Great job!

I would love to hunt them with the bow as did for 25 or 30 yrs. However due to all my ailments I just cant carry everything that I need to to bow hunt. I have a double bull matrix blind which is 25 or 30 lbs. alone. Throw in some decoys, a chair, and the bow, and its beyond what I can carry. Iv'e been using burlap netting but its not enuff cover to draw the bow with. Plus this yr. I have never seen birds so spooky. Up till today I haven't heard any gobbling when they hit the ground. Well I got a lead on a big tom for tomorrow and I just read the QUABBIN IS GOING TO OPEN ON MAY 21. Things are lookin up!!!!
